Put in the deposit for the 2013 Cali. Nero/nero. And, just to please Rick, I added shields. Now to wait for 3 months!
Congrats. You will love the Cali. Just got home from work. Driving her is the perfect antidote for a busy Monday.
Cool - did you wind up paying msrp? I didn't know you could order a new car and get a 2013 so fast! Makes me wonder why I don't do that! What options?
Congratulations Suggest yellow calipers to match the shields And perhaps red contrast stitch everywhere to brighten things up and add a contrast, $500 very well spent IMO
I would agree with the above ... and all the shields do is help proclaim this is a Ferrari (and get additional attention which I love) WAY COOL, I love that color combo. Drive the hell out of it and enjoy! Rick
Congrats nice color combo. Enjoy it in good health when it comes in> I cant imagine the wait. I remember my first BMW and waiting 6-8 weeks for it and it drove me crazy. I couldnt imagine waiting for a ferrari. Maybe one day I will be lucky enough to make that happen. Lastly what options did you get like the above poster asked?
Yep, from all the Ferrari owner wannabes I did. . Last time I looked the center of my dash still said Ferrari. . Actually I had a guy at a silly car show bugging me over and over that his Corvette would beat my California and after a while I had to point out that the center of my dash said Ferrari, his said Chevrolet! He had no answer for that. I also pointed out that Don Garlits would build something to beat his Vette but who cares. Beautiful day today in Toledo, drove home with the top down!!! Rick
Red stitching - I was going to do yellow and I am very happy with the dealer's advise on red. Nero/Nero also and I had the 20" diamond cut rims powder coated Nero except for where it is diamond cut
I agree - the red stiching with the yellow tach is perfect - Im not as crazy about the yellow stich -but love the yellow tach and calipers - my 430 spider was red stich - yelow tach - red calipers
Actually, I really don't like the contrast stitching. _Maybe_ grey, but not red. Black tach, black calipers. I was really planning on doing no shields, but I was talked into it for resale value. I actually don't want the attention, at all.
Well, get ready to pay for the airfreight versus shipping by boat to cut down delivery time. However, here is my experience. I wanted a 2012 in April last year, had to get the options in by May. Build for next year's US models started in July. Mine was built by end of July, but Italy closes its doors in August. Car hit the boat early September, 3 week journey then sat in New Jersey to clear customs. Finally arrived October 10. Air freight, 10K I think, will remove 2 weeks but if the car is not ready to ship by July 31st, then you will still lose a month.
The stitching in red is subtle, let me post some pics. Black tach will really not work, do they offer a black tach? Look if you really do not want to draw attention then get a grey Honda. Not trying to sound like an ********* but just the car's exotic shape will always draw attention. Does not matter about simple accents like shields and calipers, there will always be a horse prancing on the front and back.
Sounds like my car. Nero/Nero, black stitching, black tach, shields, yellow calipers, 20" wheels. I'm loving it, hope you will too!
Congrats for taking the plunge. You will love it. Your color combo is close to mine (Silverstone/Nero). The hard part will be the wait! My tach isn't yellow, though. Oh, that is exquisite! There was a 2011 silverstone/nero with carbon fiber through the console that I missed out on at the last moment. I _love_ that color. Extremely elegant. I also enjoy the fact that your car is in your living room. Or, that you live in your garage.
