I was looking at my oil change board and I see I have only driven my Dino 380 miles in the last year. I am ashamed. I don't deserve this car. Maybe time to send it down the line. 🙁 I drive my Sprite and 2002tii all the time. Image Unavailable, Please Login
"Splain why. The Dino is so much more drivable than the Sprite. It's delight to drive. More aural than the BMW. You DO deserve the car. The question is: why are you not enjoying driving it? Matt
Interesting...my situation was bassackwards....my tii (a Touring hatchback model) was the car sitting all of the time. The Mondial was the car of choice until the 996 turbo came along and then it was a fight choosing between the aural fixation and brute power. The tii was a tough one to get started, thus was tucked in the most disadvantageous section of the garage. Then I decided to take my time and perform a major service on the Mondial. That meant I had to free up some room in the garage and move things around a bit. The tii had been obstinate for over 30 years but with my work, just never seemed to have the time to delve into the issue....with retirement, time became abundant. I focused on the Kugelfischer linkage and found that the one critical (ie adjustable) link between the pump and the throttle plate shaft was all of 2mm too long. Now that it has been "reset", it starts on first crank and it is a fun car to fire up and drive. It sure seems archaic by comparison though. Finding replacements for the 30 year old BF Goodrich age checked tires is my next adventure....who ever thought that production of 205 60x13 tires would cease? Brock
I think life gets busy and you almost have to schedule driving your collector cars. I have a buddy with an original Ford GT40 that got all the suspension, brakes and steering refurbished and a complete paint job done and he hasn't driven it yet. It's been four or five months and he still hasn't driven it. I am just as bad!
But it's NOT on the lift today. tii is getting some sun outside, Dino is on the ground. Time to drive!
Its a pity they are so valuable today. When I had mine in the 80's I drove mine as a daily driver -- the only car I had for 18 months. Today I would worry some nut case missed a red light.

That's in any car, the roads are full of nuts...specially the cyclists and the pedestrians, and.... Regards, Alberto
PS. You are insured to the hilt, right? So go and have some fun That is what I do, well not in a Dino yet, but soon, and the country I live in, is a zoo. Red lights? We don't know what they are for, aren't they a Holiday thing? Just get the lead out and drive, you won't regret it... A.
