I tried searching but there are so many threads on garages it would take me a million hours to sort through them to find the information relevant to my query.

Basically, I need three new garage doors for a 3-car garage. No windows. They need to have good insulation because the winters are very cold here on Long Island.

I would appreciate some guidance because I am wholly ignorant on this subject.

What should each door cost, what should it be made out of, etc?

Web site links and contact information of vendors are welcome!

    Thanks in advance! :D

Just get a insulated foam(solid?) core door like Clopay. They are a well known national brand. They are generally about 25% more than a regular door, but they are much more quiet. Home Depot and Lowes actually carry them. I just got 3 installed on a new house. 1 double and 2 singles, all 8' height with windows and 3 openers with an installed price of @$3700. I just went with one of the larger local garage door companies and got Clopay. Insulated won't save you anything in the winter unless your garage is heated, but they are much more quiet.

For R-value, the best I've found to date is a Fimbel 500 series 2" thick polyurethane filled door with an R-value of 17.5 . These are a raised panel residential door and are mfg here in NJ which means if you ever need a replacement panel, it won't be weeks away. This is what I went with on my garage.....for both thermal and sound insulation (it can get pretty loud in the workshop). SD
