Put on 16" tires (avon, mx 500 from tire rack, got them because they received very high ratings at tire track user comments, and were pretty cheap; one day delivery which was also pretty good, 20 bucks each to install at firestone which has a deal with tire track) on my 308 GT4. I had 14" (don't remember the make, but they were in good shape, tread wise, standard camp wheels).

I've only drive 6 miles or so, but the new tires seem, much, much better. I don't understand it, but these tires (or maybe the rims, which are BBS's) turn much easier at low speeds, or almost no speed say when I'm backing out of my car port (I have a U shaped drive way with a carport at the bottom of the U, which requires a full deflection steering wheel rear turn at very slow speed). It was very difficult with my old tires and rims. It's much easier now.

I had joined in another member's thread that we wanted power steering for our 308's. But I'm thinking, not any more. Parking and turning at slow speeds is night and day different. not sure why. I've only done a few tight turns at higher speeds, but the turning seems different. I didn't like the way the 14" turned; seemed like that back end would slide out from under me. These tires and rims seem better, but I'll do some more testing in the next few days.

anyway, it seems like one possible solution for the hard to steer at low speed problem, for anyone that is riding on 14" is to go with 16". But I guess most of you savy f guys already knew that. For those who didn't. I'm hear to say you should try it.
