The I drive was a reaction to the insane levels of buttons that cars started to have in the early 2000s. The E38 (the car the E65 replaced) had over 40 buttons within driver reach from his seat. People complained, and we got I drive as a result. Thank the whiners.
I love it. I am young and tech savvy and have no problem memorizing it. I find it easy to use and often wish my jag had it.
We have an E38 in the family and I love the number of buttons. I think it looks better that way, too (too plain without buttons).
I like the buttons... In the I drive you have to go back and forth to change a channel and to turn the volume up... Its a good idea in theory... but in the real world of 'life based on transportation', it just isnt so intelligent.(wink)
Good idea but horribly executed. Audi's system is better, Acura's version on the RL is damn near perfect.
