    this damn MINI.

Found it online, and the wife decided she NEEDED it. It's so CUTE!!

So, up at 4:00am, a 16oz Redbull and double espresso later, I'm on the road. Some good driving music and four hours later, a crisp Texas morning, (38* according to the temp. readout) and an empty stretch of I-45, and I'm having a blast. Get to the dealership @ around 10:00am, make the trade of vehicles, and I'm off by 11. At the first turn, I almost put the MINi into the curb, the reaction to the wheel is so immediate. I pull off at the Starbucks (of course) by the dealership to juice up, and spot a pretty little Fiat X1/9 right up front, with Minnesota plates. That's pronounced Minnnaasoooooodaaaaaah.

Back on the road, and WOW I can feel EVERYTHING the car is doing. There is no slop anywhere in the car. Steering, clutch, gear change, brakes are all sports car firm and very reactive. It settles into a nice 90mph cruse easily. It feels like a four seater Lotus Elise.

Left lane here I come. Why do Saturns, and Lexussss (Lexi?) like to overtake at .01mph faster than the people in the right lane? COME ON LADY ON THE CELL PHONE, **** OR GET OFF THE POT!! Slow as you crest the hills, and wave to the nice black and whites parked on the side. And back to cruising speed. 700 miles later I arrive back in town by 4:30 pm, pick the kids up and reflect on what a great drive it was.

I have now decided that at least once a year I'm getting up early, jumping in the car and driving until the sun comes up just to enjoy an empty road and a beautiful sunrise. I suggest you do the same.

    Congratulations Wylie!:)

I had no idea you were getting a new car. Guess we'll have to have another drive sometime again soon.

That's only if the wife lets me play with it, it is HER car after all. She keeps reminding me of that fact. We actually had a small argument over who got to take it to work this morning. LOL

You can always tell her, "But, Honey, look at my username on FerrariChat!"

Congratulations - a friend-for-life has some - oh, man - special cars - but he's nuts about his Mini.

Mini's are awesome! I bought one for my son, and another (Convertible) for my wife, and they are a hoot.

Have fun buying accessories for it!
