Porsche makes an SUV, now a four dour Sedan-and intruducing a new lineup, the Cayman. Bentley makes a SUV Concept. Ahtough this would be helpful for all those Australians hauling sheep (I once heard of a Aussie that hauled sheep in his Bentley). Jaguars goin for a station wagon. I hope Ferrari never goes to far, in my life time, especially not an SUV!! We already know how dangerous Ferrari is when they venture outside of the box:

I have a Porsche-designed elliptical trainer, but you couldn't tell by looking at it. Actually, the red-on-tan theme on the home gym is kind of humorous when you think about it. And at the price they're asking, those had better be Connolly hides.

These car comapines think they can be all things to all people, in desperation to survive, it rarely works and just creates more confusion to the buying public.

I think Porsche is very smart to introduce a sedan. Look at what the "competition" is, and where they are at these days: MB- whose quality has plummetted as they have become more Japan-mericanized; BMW, whose 7 series has continued to sell despite the fact that almost everything is wrong with it; the aluminum Jaguar, probably closer to the core of what it was, but in many ways that's not great; the Maserati- c'mon folks (looks nice, dunno about reliability, or long-term prospects for the marque); the VW Phateon, an even bigger marketing failure.
The Bentley GT seems to be doing OK, granted it's close to double the price of most of these, but its got what people want.
Why not a Porsche sedan? Ferrari makes 4 seaters, even the great cars of by-gone eras, from Bugatti, to Hispano-Suiza, made big cars as well as performance cars. The Porsche could do extremely well in today's market, and bring no shame to that marque. In fact, when you look at what some of these other companies have done, they should be far more ashamed of what their products have become.
Maybe i'm in the minority, but the fact that a car company has to do this to stay competitive, and still offers a range of what people want, including great sportscars, makes more sense to me than the direction some of these other companies have taken in recent years, with the effect of offering an inferior product in their core areas.

This is kind-of discssed in the latest autoweek. Great Articles. Hummer is also making the H3, to compete with the Ford Exploere. And Even have plans for a buggy. I liked the H1, but this is getting ridiculous.

But some of the production of the new Flying Spur will be made in Germany!

Leave tradition aside, I'd probably want the car to be constructed in Germany over alot of other places...

Actually, that's my point. There are no more true marques, its all just branding now.
