    Good Evening everyone;
    As a licensed technician for the past 30 years or so I have had the opportunity to work on a number Ferrari's for my customers. I always enjoyed driving them but always stuck to north american muscles cars and Jaguars to play with. When my kids came along (now 17 and 12) I sold the last of my vehicles and haven't really been looking for anything since .... until 3 months ago. I no longer twist wrenches everyday but still get calls from a couple of former customers from time to time when they get into a jam. A used car dealer friend had taken in a Mondial and the fusebox melted down just after he took possession of it (nice timing) and he wondered if I could help him. My theory has always been that if a man made it a man could fix it. The fusebox was a mess but after several nights on the bench the fault was rectified and the fusebox went back to the dealer who was working on the car. After 2 more weeks the dealer threw up there hands and told my friend that they didn't want to work on the car anymore and he should take it somewhere else. Needless to say the vehicle ended up in my possession for the purpose of diagnosing and fixing it. Upon its arrival at my place it was love at first sight and I knew that I had to own this car. It has been a long time since a car has caught my eye but this one sure did. After a couple of weeks of negotiation I am now the proud owner of a red 1989 Mondial t cabriolet (black top)with 18,000miles on the odometer. It was a California car and it shows. Along with the new carpets and top the owner has taken good cosmetic care but the mechanical and electrics are in need of some attention. Oh well, it can rest on the hoist for the winter while I do a major service and pull apart every connection, clean, tighten and apply Stabilant 22a to everthing. I just wanted to say Hello from Mississauga, Ontario and compliment all of you on your helpful and polite manner. It is nice to see people helping people. My trade specialty is electrical, a/c and Bosch electronics in general so I will jump in where I can.

    Congratulations!!!!

    A lot of people say they can never afford a Ferrari but you are proving them wrong. I started many years ago with a basket case Dino. It was my way in and I never regretted it.

    I wish more would stop worrying that they want a garage queen or museum piece before they buy. You're a great example to all of us!

    Good luck on getting it running. Send some pics when you can!

    Like you, I just bought a Mondial T cab out of a dealer in NYC. Good price, no info on mainteneance but 45K miles confirmed. I live in Switzerland and the car is in transport right now. I look forward to seeing your pics.

    Thanks for offering the help and your insight.

    I feel like an audience heckler every time I say this, but what is the serial number? :)
