After a 360, 430,458 - all go great go carts I stepped up to the world of 12 cylinders. Any advice?
I had the 360 as well as a 2015 458. I have just received my F12. This car is on another planet from those and an order of magnitude higher up the food chain in every dimension. It is more car, more room, more engine, more sophistication, more speed, more comfort, more design......more everything. Advice? Get in it and drive the wheels off every time you turn the key and don't look back. Those cars are in the rear view mirror.
That is good to hear. I just took the plunge as well a few weeks ago. Car should be here in August. I went from a Californa 30 to a 458 Spider and was a little nervous about the jump to the F12. If you go to the 458 forums everybody prefers the 458 to the F12. If you go to the F12 forums everybody prefers the F12 to the 458. But it seems that everybody that has had both prefers the F12. I am a little sad to lose the convertible but I have always loved the look and styling of the F12.
458 is a super fun track rat. 458 Spider is great too for the air. But ... F12 is a serious "machine". FF, same. Get ready to really enjoy 3rd gear, and especially 50 to 150. So composed, so fast.
The question is like I have Victoria secret angel in my bed, what should I do now? I think you know the answer.
Congrats. Got mine recently and have been enjoying it immensely. It never seems to amaze you when you push it. Still scary how much power it has. The compression ration allows you to just downshift and stop without using your brakes and it feels like an ordinary car around town until you start seeing the LED lights on your steering wheel light up and then its just a beast.
I've just done the same. First Ferrari - purchased F12 yesterday. Not stopped smiling. It's 6:40 am and now going for another drive 😁. Any ownership tips welcome. Jon
congrats. I can only imagine the feeling of taking delivery of one of these beauties again, its epic!!
Congratulations and enjoy it as much as you can. I purchased mine three weeks ago and will receive it soon and what enables to control my anxiety is that exhaust F1 sound I've kept taped in my mind after having heard the engine reving with the exhaust valves open.
Advice? Drive it as much as possible and don't ruin it by putting cartoonish sized black wheels on it.
Get a capristo remote exhaust valve controller to keep the exhaust valves open at low rpm. That way, you always hear the glorious v12 the way it was meant to be heard.
Completely decat it with valves open permanently just pure F1 noise. In past have had 348 comp, 355 challenge, 360 CS and 430 Scud and moved to the F12 have not looked back. I just need more F1 noise.
A trip down memory lane. I loved the F12 so much that I still have it! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
