I have practiced flying R/C choppers on AeroFly Pro and RealFlight for over a year and can only hover. A few months ago, I bought a small electric called a Piccilo and crashed it in 30 seconds. TODAY I flew a Hirobo XRBSR Sky Robo chopper ( Check one out at http://www.ronlund.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=heli&Product_Code=XRB&Category_Code=Hirobo_Kits ). After a few minutes, I was flying all around the hobby shop I was visiting.

I have flown R/C gas planes for 25 years and have never been able to fly a chopper. This bad boy was a flippen blast and I ordered one from the shop manager to fly it around my house! VERY EASY!!!

    Peter...

Can ya give me a few more details? It's electric of course....how long will it fly for before going dead? How stable is it? Why is it easier then others? How durable is it if it crashes? What kind of tricks can it do? (as compared to others?)......please, don't be brief & vague

    Thanks!

    - Steve

So honestly, which is more fun ? I haven't tried these in a long time (I used to fly R/C planes a long time ago, but not seriously). Are the choppers significantly slower than the planes - that would diminish the fun value for me a little. :D

Most of them are, there are a few choppers that are quite fast. The main part of flying a Heli is it is like balancing a bowling ball on the point of a push pin.

With the LP battery (Sorry Bruce), probably about 30 minutes on a 20 minute charge. The craft was VERY stable. I believe it's easier to fly because of the dual rotor blade setup (One above the over). It has a gyro, colective pitch but does not have a tail rotor. I just could not believe I was able to fly this thing! The salesman told me that the rotor assembly was very rubust and that the blades would be about the only component that could get damaged on most crashes. He said he flew it into the shop wall a couple of weeks ago and it was undamaged!

Hmmmm....no tail rotor??? Then how does it rotate about a flat axis? Let's say it's hovering and pointing North...and you want it to rotate to face South (rotating 180-degrees)...how is this accomplished??? I'm guessing it slows one rotor and the torque moves it?????

So this thing can just hover still and move around easily? The transmitter looks a bit like a cheapy that's included in the kit? Can this be flown outdoors in a slight breeze....or is this an inside or dead-wind only thing? How fast can it move?

I mean....is this a serious helicopter to some degree...or it is little more then a push-the-button and hardly any control?

    Ever heard of a Shogun?

Come on Pete...give us the info!!!!! ;)

It doesn't need a tail rotor because it has twin rotors spinning in opposite directions (I assume)
