um, well tonight's been an interesting evening... may or may not elaborate tomorrow, perhaps mhh might chime in.... got the lady on her way over to make valentines even more interesting (if possible ) so seeya suckers!
Ash and I went up the freeway to film the Gallardo in the tunnels. I dropped Ash at the tunnel exit and went up to turn around. On the second pass, a police car stopped and booked Ash for "being on a roadway" or something ($25 fine). Seems a truckie thought Ash looked like a suicider or rock thrower and radioed the police! As I came screaming out of the tunnel, there was Ash being interviewed next to a cop car with flashing lights. My brakes are pretty good fortunately! The cop was pretty good about it. He gave Ash a ride to the Mobil where I was waiting.
hopefully there's not too many more days in my life where i leave in a Lamborghini and return in a cop car. i just hope the little bit of footage was worth it, and wish i had the balls to keep the camera rolling when the police turned up...
hahahahaha thats a good one even gave him a fine, for being on a roadway, its sad they didnt let him off with a warning, but a fine, jeezz....always there when you dont want them to be, and never there when you need em..
"Contravening no pedestrian signs" is what it's called, sounds odd, not sure how i can contravene something that wasn't there... i think the truckie was a bit of a drama queen. all i did was cross the road (2 3-lane freeways with a large median) and sit on the the bottom of the hill on the side of the road, the cop said he had a report there was a guy 'running around in the middle of the freeway' there wasn't any way i could really be too vague about what i was up to, tried to say i was just waiting to be picked up, as i said that what goes past but a yellow cruise missile. a second police car turns up, they see the video camera and i tell them i'm getting some scenic shots of a mates car, the second cop pipes up "oh that'll be that bloody Lamborghini i saw parked at the truck stop just ahead". so they're asking how fast were we filming the car at, and i told them it was just take-off stuff into the start of the tunnel, which was true. they didn't ask to see the footage so i didn't offer. when getting a ride back he was saying "i bet it goes pretty fast", "yeah! i've seen it get up to 100!!!!". when the cop drops me off mhh has a quick werd to him, the cop mentions he should really take the car to the Northern Territory if he wants to play with it, mhh just nods and says "yeah, that's a good idea". in the end the police were good, i mean on the ride back i heard a call over the CB for assistance where a man had called from a payphone saying he was going to 'self-harm', and they should send the cops as well because he was going to hurt any ambo's that tried to help him. to them my little adventure was just a nice diversion. all in all pretty interesting night, for the bargain price of $25 bucks!
Whats you're foolproof plan ash?? Tell all the cops in town there is 50% off all donuts at donut king??
no but i came up with another plan for getting to werk easily this morning.... we got every single green light bar the last one from my place to werk, going straight up the main drag of adelaide CBD, that's about 12 lights of which you'll usually catch half and wait 1-5 minutes at. we got almost all the way and i was wondering why such good luck... then we saw fire-trucks going the same way, so traffic-control had switched all lights to green in their path. 13 minutes from my elevator to werk's elevator, including parking in a high-rise. so, all i have to do every morning is ring up and say my building is on fire, sweet.
"No faster than the posted legal limit, Sir!" I wonder what it must be like being a walking cliche. A spare copy of the Motor Magazine "Exotics in the Outback" issue would have done quite nicely! Was probably VeloceManiac after Goober insulted him.
