I didn't even consider this on my bucket list but here I am. I never expect this. I am on extended travel in Germany and the big boss, who just happens to own a Ferrari 360 Modina, is letting me drive it. It's been nearly two weeks now. How messed up is that?

Enjoy those Autobahns. However there not like they used to be. There is only a handful of open limit roads now. Still its great driving there.

I've been out on the autobahn twice now. Because I am in the gravitational pull of Frankfurt, even though I can get out into areas that are theoretically without a speed limit, the traffic prohibits really letting it loose. I've only been able to get it up to about 200 kph. This is my last week with it and I will have to take it on an extended ride maybe north of there. I am a bit apprehensive of doing that with a car that is not mine...especially if it belongs to my big boss.

I have found that one does not have to go fast or drive the cars hard to really understand what makes them special.

You've had the opportunity to use a Ferrari as a daily driver. That is special. A lot of folks who get to drive them do it for short periods of time and it can be hard to know what it is really about.

The car has some very nice manners. Much easier to drive than I ever imagined. Of course once the RPMs climb to a certain level with the accelerator applied, there begins a stretch of the time-space continuum. I've even drove in light snow...twice. That is a bit white knuckled. This is my last week with the car. Afterwards I go to Munich for a week and then back to a very pissed off wife and hopefully not so pissed off children. Boo-yah, I want one now....badly (the Ferrari, not the pissed-off wife :) ).

Don't go north, go south west. North and you'll hit lots of Ruhr traffic. Go to Strasbourg for a choucroute lunch tomorrow. 100% doable if you leave around 9. I used to do that often when I lived in Frankfurt.

There are a few unrestricted stretches where I took my Alfa past the 250 kph that all the German made cars are limited to. Utter joy to sail past them :D
