after 1 month of waiting delivery , this moring I got 6 (2 kyosho, 4 hotwheels) and my subject is this: why everyone complaints about the Scaglietti being ugly ? I'm sick of it! actually I find it very handsome considering it is a 2+2 premium segment car ,just place it amongst Benz CL 600 or Vanquish and you'll realize how good looking it is. IMHO guys who find it ugly have problems dealing with evolution and changes. ( pics are coming soon , but in the meantine here it is a 1/1 in the same color)

I just received my Kyosho Red 328 GTB, 288 GTO evolution and my 612 Scaglietti in ingrid (Whatever), and I too have to retract all previous statements about it being ugly. This car is beautiful, I'm not sure about in red, but i opted for grey, and when it arrived this morning UPS, I couldn't put it down. i have marveled over it for the past couple of hours,in fact I am going to buy my new digital camera and a new display case on monday. I remeber someone else complaining about the quality. The quality is very good for a twenty dollar model. It is no Kyosho Ferrari but Mattel, in my opinion has done a very good job. The internet pictures do this car no justice at all.
Buy one and you will see.

Thank you. Comparing a Kyosho to a Hot Wheels model in my opinion is useless as they are in a different catergory price wise. However, I did find the attached pic and found it interesting as I did not know that Hot Wheels was in conjunction with Kyosho. See the 100% Hot Wheels logo on the right side of the box...

Mattel bought the rights from Ferrari in 1999 for 50 million US to make all ferrari memorabilia, including the diecast cars. Mattel granted Kyosho subcontracting rights to manufacture 5000 pieces of each ferrari according to color variation. So there are a total of 15,000 pieces of the 328, 10,000 pieces of the 1982 308 GTB QV and 10,000 pieces of the 1976 308 GTB. Oh, not to mention the 365 GTB/4 in three colors both early and late versions. I can bet, in a couple of years, the ones that we bought for 50-60 dollars will be worth more due to the limitation on those produced.

I feel in my own opinion that with Mattel, it is either a hit or miss.
Personal favorites from Mattel are as follows:
    1984 288 GTO
    250 GTO
    250 GT California
    F40
    512 M
    456 M
    1984 Testarossa
    365 GTS/4 Spider
    612 Scaglietti
    Enzo

I got to see the factory model which they have been moving from dealership to dealership for show. It is an impressive Ferrari! The only issue I had with the one I saw was that it was Grigio Ingrid with Blue interior. NOT a good color choice in my opinion, but still a sweet vehicle.

As far as Favotites from Mattel, I have to agree with Dana_McCann's choices but I would add the 333SP as well.
