    The other day I go a new job as a server at a restraunt. Tonight I ended up getting a hundred somethign dollars in tips on a slow ass night. This job is awesome. There's not a thing on the menu costing less than 14 bucks and in a town where a 5300 sq foot new house with lot of land goes for only 300K that is alot of money. And the coolest part is is when after we close you get all the free booze you could want. Long Island after Long Island while playing some cool arcade gold game after hours. I love this job. Time for Chris to start saving up for that USP, M4 and for black 328 at the same time.

    Good going on your new job. Enjoy it and save at least 25% of your tips. Just forget about that income and sock it away. Remember to tip-out the people behind the scenes that make you look good enough to get the tips. The chef's, hostess and bus people can break you if you piss them off. Do this job for a while and always keep your eyes open for new opportunities and meeting new contacts.

    I used to work for cash tips as a doorman at a hotel. I still yearn for that instant gratification of a job well done.

    Here's what I used to do to make sure I wasn't (completely) blowing the cash:

    1. Set up a money market account with a reputable online bank (I used netbank out of GA cause they gave me a stupid high bonus to open the acct.)

    2. Go your local bank EVERY DAY and make your deposit. Deposit all of the cash except maybe $10 for lunch money the next day.

    3. Decide how much you want to keep in your checking acct, and how much you want to save, and make out a check from the local bank to the online bank for the savings. Have the envelope sealed and stamped and ready to go so you can hand it to your teller for them to mail.

    It worked for me, YMMV.

    man.. I need to get a new job. I hate the people I have to wait on - where could I get so lucky? USI will be out soon enough and I'll be needing something of a job this summer to keep Dad happy!
