It must be at least 30+yr's since this had happened to me so I guess I was due. Just like any other day after school I take off my smock and hang it up in the back of the car so I am just wearing my t-shirt. I spot the mail man a few house away from mine so I walk out front to meet and greet him. I re-enter the backyard gate and feel something inside my t-shirt and I quickly grab it and then raise the bottom of the t-shirt to shake it out, success.

The bad thing was that it was a Wasp and it stung me twice, right next to my left nipple and just to the left of my belly button before flying away. Luckily I am not allergic to them or anything for that matter, crazy I know, and the swelling is minimum and there is no discomfort or pain. For the life of me I do not understand how he got inside my shirt without me feeling him.

Those things hurt like crazy. Good thing you aren't allergic.

Spotted a hornet's nest in a small hole in the ground along my driveway last spring. Wife instructed me to annihilate it with spray post haste. I steadfastly refused, citing "they're not going to bother us if we don't bother them". Less than 2 hours later I watched a frog hop right on top of that the hole. I was able to spend about 10 seconds admiring the "harmony of nature" as the bees just crawled onto the frog without stinging it before a handful of those very same bees flew directly from the frog to my leg and stung the ever loving **** out of it. Long story short, once the howling died down that nest was long gone. Irritating little buggers...

When I first bought my house, there was a wasps nest inside the stucco wall on the exterior. I bought some of that wasp spray that shoots 20 feet. Doesn't work, they just got pissed and swarmed towards me. I was spinning in circles as I was spraying up and down and backing up towards my door screaming like a girl. I've never been stung, but I was always told by my parents growing up that I was allergic. I didn't want to find out. The next time it rained, I went out there with the expandable spray foam and filled that hole up as fast as I could.

About 25 years ago I was working in our yard on a very hot day. When I came back in the house, my hair was drenched with perspiration and I felt something wiggling in it.

So, I reached up and ran a hand thru my hair and what felt like a red hot needle burned into the center of my palm. Turned out that a bee was lying in wait.

As an appraiser, crawling between shrubbery and sides of the house is part of the job...comes with the territory. Whenever running the tape measure behind Elephant Ear or potocarpus plants, I shake the bush a little, to see if anything flies out. I still manage to get stung every one or two years.

Last month, I got stung twice by wasps or yellow jackets within 10 minutes of each incident! Had to have been an underground nest, as no host shrubs were around. First sting was on the back of my hand, the second time, in the temple...and I'm not even Jewish!

Got stung a couple weeks ago while mowing. Not looking forward to mowing again in a few days because I still haven't located the nest.
