Yesterday I took my car on a 225 mile trip mostly off road! Went north 'til the pavement ran out, then on a gravel road 'til it ended, then on a dry mud road with a very uneven surface, had to crawl the last 10 miles. Got to the end and the fishermen in their 4X4s jaws dropped! Had to turn around and come back, and it was 30 degrees Celcius. A well maintained 308 2v injected car is dead reliable. I posted these on a Facebook page and people went crazy so I thought I'd share here as well. The first picture is Saturday at a small show, just to show that my car is not a junker! Cheers!

To each their own. It's your car but I could never do that. Glad YOU enjoyed it. That's what it's all about.

My greatest fear would be a rock strike on the windshield.

I was the only car out there, no rocks flying, fortunately! I really did enjoy the drive though. And now it's all cleaned up ready for another weekend show!

    DIno246 - GREAT! :) My kind of 3x8 use!!

To go along with your "dirt road" pic, I was trying to find the pic I took a couple of years ago of my 328 at Home Depot with roof off and six 2x4s with one end in the passenger footwell, sticking out over the rear roof support. Got some fun comments from folks in the parking lot! Unfortunately, I can't find the pic. :(

It's just dirt; it comes off!

When my mother would complain about her two little boys coming home, "All dirty," My father would come back with, "There's nothing wrong with good, clean dirt."

    God bless you good sir!
Even though I wouldn’t do that in mine in a million years, I fully support your Walter Rohrl lifestyle! Hahahahaha
Ironically, while not quite in the same league, this was my very first drive in the 308:
