    Very Nice.
Looks like a good basic collection of tools for doing auto work.

I think you will be buying more sockets.

6 points std depth and deep, 3/8 and 1/2 inch drive are a must.
    Metric and English of course.

    Erich
it took me many years to build a collection this nice. :)

You are obviously headed in the right direction. One word of advice from someone in the auto mechanic biz for over 15 years: CRAFTSMAN! I've seen too many noobs (new guys just out if school) go into serious debt with Snap-On/MATCO/S-K, etc and try to earn their bones while giving the tool truck $50 a week. I still have the wrenches from my first 212 pc Craftsman set in my box. Good luck in school! There is a TON of money to be made in this biz, just be patient, and always listen to the "old guys". Cr@p! at 33, I guess that makes me an "old guy" too.

HAve to agree about the Snap-on comment..I'm very guilty of this..but the tools are great but they are VERY expensive.

As far as big money to be made..well..not too sure about that one...in the past yes..but now with the more complex auto's out there going to the dealers for "dealer only" items(which now seems to be pretty much everything) it's really taking a toll. Also dealers are getting really cheap-o on the flate rate times the tech gets paid for warrenty work on newer cars. BMW is the worst for this. They only pay 4hours to r&R a trans in the mini. None warrenty time is 8.5 hours!! It's a tough trade..but it can be very fun and interesting..stick with it, but if you feel like it's not for you get out as soon as you can.

Boy Tom, you'll get NO argument from me concerning warranty time!!! :( It's gotten to the point that extended warranties are now only paying factory time instead of Motor/Chilton/Alldata. :( :( But that's why I said to listen to the "old guys". They/we are the ones who have figured out tips and tricks to beat or at least meet factory time. Of course, there will always be the few exceptions that you'll just get hammered on. The key is to just get it done as quickly as possible and move on.

I'm not sure what dealers pay in other areas, but, I work for one of the top paying dealers in town and the top guys make $22-$25. We do ok.

Agreed Dave. They offer great package deals, especially when they are on sale. Getting broken tools replaced is easy too.

Yep. Much easier to hit Sears on the way home rather than waiting a week and HOPING the tool guy has a replacement on his truck!
