[email protected]. I paid by Paypal over 60 days ago and the seller refuses to answer my e-mails as to where my item is. Anyone know Joseph White? Thanks, Dennis

File a claim through paypal. I have had to do this a couple of time and each time I got nearly immediate results.

This is one great thing about using Paypal.... Your money is insured and it comes from the sellers credit card from their account. Just file a claim within the 45 days from the final sale.

IIRC that is the guy in Florida who sells Ferrari manual reprints on eBay. If this is correct, I also had a problem with him a few years ago. Contact PayPal and your credit card company. In addition, if this was an eBay transaction, please leave negative feedback so that the rest of us will be forewarned.

Thanks, I contacted the seller at 30 days and he said it was returned, insufficient postage, but that he had remailed it 10 days ago! Now it's over 60 days and e-bay and Paypal have a 45 day policy. What's wrong with that policy is that I give the seller more than 45 days to make good, which I feel is only fair to him, but in the end I still get screwed. I have sent unanswered e-mails recently. It was an original sales brochure for 1982 308GTBi US version, which is exactly what I have, and it wasn't exactly inexpensive! Ciao, Dennis, so anyway, the point is to warn everyone else if this guy is a fraud, thanks.

What is his ebay seller ID? Just his email isn't gonna help, unless that is his EBAY Id.

If it is the guy I have in mind, he has used several different user ids on eBay. Unfortunately, this trick is not unusual when it comes to lousy sellers. I would be extremely reluctant to buy anything from someone who does not have a very long and very positive seller feedback history (i.e. a rating in the hundreds or thousands with 99% or more positive). Also, take a look at the detailed seller ratings. These are the stars that appear at the top of each seller's feedback page. It seems like buyers are more likely to honestly rate their experience there than in the comments.

I just checked my records and we are talking about the same people. In my case, I made the mistake of paying them directly back in 2003. I was rewarded with unauthorized charges on my credit card. Straightening out the mess was not a pleasant experience...

Here is the party in question:

They either currently are or were at one time also located at:

As I mentioned before, they have used several different user ids on eBay. Beware!!

Here is the message I got from him today, so let's give him another chance, later, Dennis:

    Dennis,

I am not sure what is going on with this shipment, but either way, the USPS sent it back AGAIN! I am sending it once again, the 3rd time now, in a seperate box and have included the original box that shows all the USPS stamp marks and such just to verify that we have indeed been attempting to ship your goods & not just jacking you around.

I trust this time it will arrive in due course later this week.

    Lets keep our fingers crossed.

You should ask him to provide the tracking number.
If you sent a package twice and it was returned......would you not re ship with a tracking number just to follow its progress?

USPS will not provide tracking numbers, but you are right--If I was the seller I would send it FedEx and provide a tracking number to ease the buyers mind...

If he is claiming to use USPS. Then ask for a Delivery Confirmation number. USPS doesn't have a "proper" tracking number but for an extra charge of .75 (I think) you can buy a Delivery Confirmation number that will show when the package leaves and when it is delivered. Anytime I send using USPS I always get a "DC#" to prove to the other person that the item has been sent...and not have to just take my word on it.

I also used this vendor. I think he is just either very lazy or totally unorganized. It took me almost a month from time of payment to recieve my literature from him. Hope you get your stuff.

I finally got my brochure today, almost 3 months after I paid by Paypal! Oh well, I didn't need it any sooner, I just thought I'd never get it, he took SO long to send it, not good for his reputation, I'd never buy from him again only because that's not caring much for your customer, in my opinion! All is good in the end though, Ciao! Dennis

Nonsense, USPS offers Track & Confirm, with tracking info updating every night http://www.usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm. I just tracked a package sent to me week before Christmas all the way to my doorstep. My main dislike of USPS though is my local post office likes to leave the pink 'sorry we missed you' slips - in my mailbox, while I'm home, meaning they were to lazy to get out of the truck and even walk to my front door.

    Glad you got your package!

Latest Ebay trick by sellers: Low selling price on your auctions got you down? Fake having damage and balk to buyer as there is no downside for you and Negative feedback will be removed

Recently bought a nice Marcel Massini book
"Ferrari 250 LM, Marcel Massini, Collectible, EUC, Printed in Great Britain"
    from seller lhh608

It was a great price on a rare book from a seller's No Reserve auction. I promptly paid and the next day I received an email stating that during packing two pages were torn so the book was not being shipped and my money was being fully refunded. I emailed back and asked for a photo of the damage, seller responded positively but photo never came. No response to reminder.

2 weeks later I left Negative Feedback. Seller responded like a scorched wildcat with a strongly worded email and petitioned eBay. 2 days later eBay removed my negative feedback and the seller has 100% positive.

SELLERS - BOTTOM LINE, You don't need to sell and eBay will wash ALL negative feedback.

No, but if he felt that one neg feedback was so awful then why didn't he prevent it by just sending the image? Remember that I requested the photo, he agreed to it and then when did not send I reminded him before leaving negative feedback.

    That is just inconsistent behavior.
