Not comparable. amelia was us market 599. Villa d'este was euro spec. Any 599 can be imported to euro market. Not the case for us market so pool of manual 599 is even smaller.
That alone does not justify the gap in prices, in my opinion. Then I suppose the proof will come when the next US market three pedal 599 sold will bring less than the AI car.
there is a lesson for all of us here and it is..... NEVER EVER SELL A CAR - buy new ones but ALWAYS hold on to the existing one Looking through this post i see plenty of people wishing they had never sold this or that on the basis that prices have risen higher and higher I've no plans to sell my 550 or 330 EVER
It's about knowing what you own. If I had a 6 speed 599, even if I ordered it brand new, I would know what I owned, Ferrari salesman be damned. Same with a 430, 575M, SuperAmerica, and 599 6speed's. End of an era and prices currently reflect that.
Regardless, if a dealer calls you up to offer 30K over what you paid for the car, wouldn't a logical person take note and investigate as to why? Of course, if your a knowledgeable owner, you should already know why! Heck, the owner could have just queried FChat members about what to do or even listed it to see if he can get more, since obviously the dealer is going to get some cut of the selling amount.
Yeah, but everyone would have told him to take the money and never look back because the buyer clearly has more money than sense. Let's face it, the OP got a generous price because until that auction, the car was nothing of note. Even today the most noteworthy thing about a 6spd 599 is that some crazy guy once paid $600K for one in 2015.
i wonder if OP bragged to his friends and neighbors about how those "dummies" paid him $30K more than what he paid a year ago and bragged how smart and shrewd he was?
