    That's it! I can't stand it anymore!
It's Stock Car racing ALL THE TIME! ! ! !
When they're not hogging the channel racing, they're sittin' around talkin' about it! Give me a break!

There was a time, when the channel started out, I couldn't get enough of it. Lots of eurocar stuff, tons of variety, but now if they're not racing Stock Cars, they're racing Semi's, or no...how about flat track dirt bikes? Gee I wanna know who the stars of tomorrow are in THAT!?!

    What a useless channel!

I love Speed TV. If it wasn't for Speed, I would have nowhere to watch F1.

the only thing I watch is F1 and WRC. That takes up maybe 6 hours of their weekly programing, the other 162 hours are oval related.

It's the only place to see F1, WRC, World Superbike, etc. not to mention Victory by Design, but the 900 hours of Redneck Racing is a bit much. I understand the massive fanbase of NASCAR, but enough already.....

Had never checked it out before, but this week noticed that it is offered on my Comcast On Demand so started checking out episodes. Saw a show on their Behind The Headlights series on the Ferrari Barchetta and since I am new to Italian cars I learned quite a bit of Ferrari history with a one hour show. Never knew that the Prancing Horse logo was taken off some World War 1 plane. will definitely go back and look for some more good shows to check out

I have it only for F1, WRC and victory by design, other than that I couldn't car less for stock racing and other programs ... so IMO Speed channel sucks 90% of the time!

    Exactly my sentiments!
    It's a shadow of it's former glory.
Ever since the name was changed to SPEED it started it's slide.
I knew that change was gonna be bad!

Speed Channel is free for me and I love it. When it is showing Nascar I don't watch it. F-1, Barret Jackson Auto Auction, Autoweek, Motorweek, Sports Car Revolution, Autoline Detroit and Victory Design on Saturday nights make it one of my all time favorite channels.

I get it for free as well. Even here at school we get it at no charge. I do understand what you are saying though, whenever I turn it on hoping to see something on Italians, there's a group of balding men talking about Nascar.

Fox has a ton of $$$ invested in NASCAR. They also own the Speed Channel. I would be pushing as much NASCAR coverage as I could if I were them.
I wish that there wasnt as much NASCAR coverage, but it is a necessary evil. Im hoping that they will split Speed into two networks, one for NASCAR and one for everything else.

I have to agree with the majority. I used to watch quite a bit more than I do now. I have just grown sooooo fricken tired of stock car racing I could just put a gun in my mouth.

I watch F1, F1 Motorcycles (love that stuff) LeMans, WRC, Behind the Headlights, and the occasional ALS race. I did enjoy the Barber racing they had also.

I used to turn it on every time the TV came on, but not so much anymore. The schedule is not listed in the local paper, so checking the web page to see what is on is a chore. I am certain I miss some stuff that I would find interesting, just too damn lazy to check.

It supplies me with F1, Fifth Gear, Dream Car Garage, and WRC... other than that it's nothing but various bikes, cars and trucks making a left turn... I like the 4 shows I watch, but it could be so much better - IMO...

I see it this way: I don't have to worry about missing anything during the week, so I only check in on weekends. I don't mind that they show so much NASCAR stuff--it's popular and it's a hell of a lot better than "Who wants to date a race car driver?". If open-wheel racing ever gets a foothold here, then perhaps there will be justification for a spinoff, either for open wheel or just NASCAR.

When CART committed suicide by splitting into 2 they gave NASCAR carte blanche & NASCAR jumped in with both feet & ran with it. The France's are master marketers. NASCAR is the biggest show in the US & probably #2 behind F1. If you want to be PO'd at anyone be PO'd at CART & the schmucks who didnt know how to properly market sports car racing in the US

But doesn't NASCAR have its own "Channel"? Like On-Demand kind of deal? I say move all the races to Nascar On-Demand and charge all the Nascar fanatics $3/month to View the channel. That sounds really unfair that Nascar hogs up the airwaves with their races; they should atleast divide the type of racing equally among the broadcasting schedule.

The channel is there to make business so they are gonna appeal to their largest demographic the most, white southern males and females age 18-34. The others just have to put up with it. I for one think it sucks, but you gotta make money, and Nascar makes a TON of it.

Some one else said it Nascar is as big here in the states, as F1 is in Europe. Ask a German guy who Jeff Gordon is, he prob wont know. Ask a southern man who Michael Schuimacher is, he prob wont know. Its that simple and i doubt it will change anytime soon.

To me, Speed channel doesn't get any marks for covering F1, that's expected. And while it is understandable to share the air waves with NASCAR and the likes, what I don't understand is do people really watch the round table discussions on top of all that, so much so that "real car programming" needs to be shown at off hours?

And truck racing? Semi racing? Flat track dirt racing? Whenever I turn it on that's all I get, especially Friday nights!

I miss the good old days, when they had interesting shows and they repeated them throughout the week so you didn't have to miss the good stuff.

And finally, my other beef is when they show rallying, but don't tell you when the event was from!?! "Ya, here's a race. It ran sometime in the past. Enjoy." I hate watching a race with no context. Grrrrrrrrrrr.........

But Speedvision was the one and only channel for European, rally, road course, etc. racing.

SPEED is one of a gazillion channels covering nascar, nastruck, and for all I know, nasSUV. They've got a tiny sliver of a large loaf, instead of getting all of a croissant. ;)

And SPEED didn't even bother with Dakar this year -- OLN had it. Sponsored by fish bait or something.

But that's probably where the problem lies: Not with SPEED, but with the ad agencies. Speedvision couldn't get sponsors for half their programs. Placing an ad on a program requires that both the ad exec and the client had to have heard of the venue. Never mind a tiny market share, if everyone knows the venue -- example: ad rates for one of 200 channels of new year's coverage ... when everyone's too drunk to remember what was on the ad, anyway. ;)

I just get riled when SpeedChannel goes to commercials every time something interesting is about to happen in an F1 race.

I've measured it: three laps of race, two laps of commercials.
