I am ready to buy now. Any leads from you guys? Am I going to be limited to 99? 2000 out fo the question? Anything other than ebay would be greatly appreciated! This is my first Ferrari and a lifelong dream of mine...wish me luck fellas.
ok, GL, just don't put the M3 in the same sentence again please. LOL. these other guys will know much better but I used to be in the car business before poker and looked around for myself as well before I got the F430 but 100k was nowhere near possible when I was looking the past few months. It seems like so many guys on here seem to know of these incredible deals where 360's can be had for 100k but I would be very careful. I just looked at a 2001 blue coupe with 20k miles for 174k which they would have let go for 164k.
Todd, its always the guys who don't have one that have the incredible deals, therefore it is easier for them to lower the cost of the cars. I think he can find a nice car (books and records) with a 6 Speed for about $115k-$120k Model Year 99, possibly 2000 with 12 to 20,000 Miles.
If that's truly the best deal you've found on an 01 blue coupe with 20K miles, you haven't really been doing your due diligence, imo.
so where are all of those Great Deals on 360 guys ?????????????? All of the super stars who responded to this thread should find you one with EASE. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7951 Expect a car with no issues a service, books, records, etc. Yes I am being a smart a s s. But, now it's time to put up or shut up. My opinion is you are $20K away for a nice 1999 U.S. Car with 18K miles +. But, I could be wrong if someone has the Cream Puff out there that is flooding the market. Mario
Mario, I am sure you can get a car like Mr. 911 states, but is probably needs service (6k for a 30k Belt Service), updates, and probably has stories. Not always, but most of the time. If you look long and hard you can find a great buy as well. Like I said before "THE GUYS THAT DON'T OWN THEM, ALWAYS HAVE THE GREAT DEALS."
Agreed, I just sold my 2002 coupe to the dealer with 5000 miles on it for 141k. I think you could probably buy it for 150k maybe 151k. You should be able to find a nice1999 for 110 to 115k if you look hard enough.
My point exactly. I get tired of hearing people on this site talking out of their pie hole with great deals on cars that are real great. Fact is the market on these cars are still $120 - 125 for a 99 and 5K + for each year thereafter. I mean cars serviced with no stories. And the guys that bought a great deal would not tell you that their purchase at $115K was minus the $6-$7K shop bill 30 days later for a major service, clutch and other issues.
Precisely, sometimes 10k depending on Model Year. I hear the same BS as well. Of course if someone sees a low priced car on E-Bay that is what suddenly all the 360's are worth, never mind that it may have been under water in Florida or been wrecked in Texas.
there is a Euro 1999 360 with 6k that can be had for about $120-124k. It is 6 speed and has carpristo exhaust level 2. I drove it, it is awesome. black leather. PM me if you want more info about the dealer! gordon
I haven't been in the market for a 99/00, but I do keep an eye on the new owners as they introduce themselves here. If you pay attention, you'll find an occasional hint about the actual purchase price. The sense I've gotten so far is that 99/00 360 coupes are running in the 115-125K range if they're medium miles (10-20K), otherwise excellent and no stories. Maybe it's like a fish story, talking about the sub-100K clean 360, it gives the teller something to contribute to the conversation, etc. And at some point, they will be right, as 360's will surely work their way down. The only problem is that if someone is stretching to buy a 360 and they hear these stories, they have a false expectation that their savings will be enough to afford one. Instead they'll be in for months of frustration chasing down bad lead after bad lead, or else they'll find one and buy it, only to find out it's a nightmare car that costs them more to fix up than if they had paid a bit more for a really clean car.
Just for the record, the 30K mile service (timing belt, all fluids and more) at a dealer runs ~$3800. As for the rest, I agree with the others -- $115 to 120K for an excellent condition, low mileage, no stories 1999 with all required services.
somehow i posted this in the wrong thread: check out item 45842330048 on EBay. It can be had for 130,000 or possibly lower. Nice looking car, with two sets of wheels, and lots of tools, books and service...I am looking for a spider F1 version, yellow preferably for a decent price...otherwise i would have considered this one.
Jack, I am going by what it cost me on my 355 in the past for an Engine out 30k service with Belts. I figured the 360 would be in the same ballpark. Regards, Tony
Maybe this is a bit off-topic since you're talking about a 99-360 and spending $99K, but there are a few significant advantages to buying a later year 360. For example, my 2004 360 coupe has (i) over 2 years remaining on the warranty and (ii) all the recall upgrades of prior models. That means peace of mind for potentially high maintenance cars. A 99-360 is w/o warranty and the prior owner may not have got the upgrades. I guess I learned something when I 'got a real deal' on my 98 355 spider F1, akin to you looking for a 99-360 for $99K. Even though the PPI was OK, I incurred $15K expenses in the first year on stuff that was off-warranty. Good luck
Tony: My only F-car major service experience was with my 1999 360 and $3800 was the actual charges for mine. I do understand that the 355 was more expensive, in part, because the engine has to come out for the belt change.

I am getting ready to put my car up for sale: 2001 360 F1 Coupe with 19,300 miles on it and the 15K service done. The car is a somewhat rare color sombo: Nart Blue with Natural Interior. Options: Daytona Seats (not power), Scuderia Shields, CD player. I spoke with 2 dealers about consigning the car: Ferrari Dealer: Retail for the car $125,000. Lambo Dealer: Retail for the car $120,000. These numbers they say are more in line with what people are actually getting for the cars, not what they list them at. Does this seem in line with your goal for a 99 @ $100,000?
I think it goes: Model Year, Make, Model, Asking price, Miles, Seller, Color, distance from you (where "you" is ScottS)
