A while ago, I discovered that there is a plastic pipe (highlighted in pictures below) present in front of the left rear wheel on my F430. I hated the look of it and decided to trim it down a bit.

Does that actually put any risk on safety? will there be enough "water" to make the left rear wheel to lose grip???

    Thanks

Most likely an overflow pipe from the fuel tank. Trim away I say :)

Your car won't look very "manly" without it.

Any idea why it has to be there instead of behind the wheel?

I thought the same thing, then I was watching an F1 race (in the rain) and the announcer was saying that these F1 cars, with full wet tires, displace 16 gallons of water per second. So I thought, hey, a few drops of coolant in front of the rear tire won't hurt anything :)

Its the overflow for the fuel tank as I have experienced it when I over filled the tank:D

I think is the A/C condensations pipe, water dipping out while ideling the car with a/c on.

Sometimes forums are sources of mis-information as demonstrated in this thread. With a few short posts we have that the hose is for antifreeze overflow, gas overflow and A/C evaporative overflow. Mine is connected to the onboard urinal :)
