I must sell my beloved 550. It has almost 67,000 miles on it. Most of the miles are from my trips to Las Vegas, the Bay Area, and San Diego. The beast has never been touch by another car nor have I ever driven it like a madman. I have all the paperwork showing two majors and oil changes every 3,000 miles.
No one can tell me a proper asking price. Can anyone here help me?

Bart - bless your heart (no pun intended) - I was going to start a thread today "Where's Bart?"

    Missed your wit and wisdom.

    Hope you feel better.

Bart, maybe drop a note to Jim Lyons at the Sports Car Company in San Diego. He handles a lot of 550s and would be able to advise you as to the price.

Ton of miles won't help price.

A search of Ebay finished listings gave a little insight.

1999 with 18K miles, manual gearbox didn't sell for $88K asking. I know this car, it has some cosmetic issues, seller wants $80K.

2000 12K manual not meeting reserve bid to $88K.

    1999 10K manual at a dealer $94K - not moving real fast.

Looks to me like taking mileage into effect this could be a less than $70K car. I've seen a couple at Manheim go in the $70's with some cosmetic needs and much lower mileage than yours.

I think most Ferrari buyers are very wary of high mileage cars, not that it always makes any sense, but there you have it.

    Just my amateur $.02.

On the plus side of the ledger, you've had a lot of great miles on the car, so it doesn't owe you as much as some 550 that's been sitting huddled under a cover for 9 years.

... some time ago. Where is Bart?

We all know that these cars are good for lots of miles.

Hope all is well and glad to see that you enjoy it. Lots!
