Hopped over here from the other side to seek knowledge from the good folk in Maserati land. Growing family is seeing my strictly two seat f-car spending more time under wraps than on the road and my hankering for Italian automotive goodness is not being met as a result..... A good few years ago I came very close to buying a Ghibli bi-turbo as a progression from having a play in my brother's 430 bi-turbo... the deal didn't work out as it had seen too much abuse and didn't come up to scratch in ppi. Fast forward to today and my whistful gaze has returned to these savage little machines - can anyone offer any insight and wisdom for a prospective search? Are they tough little things? or have delicate Italian temprements? Based in the UK if it makes any difference and any comment gratefully received.
    Ciao.

Have a look at Enricos pages. Lots and lots info on Maseratis, mostly biturbos: http://www.maserati-alfieri.co.uk/alfieri00a.htm

I have a Ghibli myself, and I absolutely love it, although I have had a few more expenses than I had hoped for when I bought it. There are only about 10 Ghiblis in Norway, so I basically had to buy the only one for sale at the time. These are solid cars as long as they are taken care of. The engines are bulletproof. During the 1 1/2 years I owned my previous ´94 Maserati Spyder, it cost me 500 pounds in maintenance, and I used it as a daily driver during two summers.

Concerning spareparts I have used David Askew with success, and you can also try Eurospares. Spareparts are not expensive, but some parts are hard to come by. A biturbo expert is having a look at my car on friday, and he´s gonna fix whatever is needed to make the car perfect again, and I can tell you that a well sorted Ghibli is every bit of that Italian automotive goodness you are looking for :)
