    Hi guys..

Well, the time has come.. I have decided I need to change my life. I have sold ScaleCars.com and all it's inventory. This was a tough thing to do as I have been involved in selling Ferrari models in 1 way or another since 1990.

So quite simply, I have burnt out. In fact, I don't even enjoy my own collection any more and have been selling that off over the last few months. I guess I should have taken pictures as I had about 1500 models at one point

I will let the new owners choose when and how to introduce themselves here on Ferrarichat. But rest assured, they are Ferrari enthusiasts. ScaleCars.com is in good hands.

    Good Luck everyone!

Do you have any 1/18 models from your collection that you're going to sell? Or any F40's? What will you be doing now?

Damn, dude, that blows... Sorry to hear it... What burned you out...? i would like to advise against selling any more of your collection as this 'burn out' will most likely be temporary... Good luck and stick around...

I imagine the burn out came from having to change the cam belts on 1500 little cars every three years...

I can certainly understand the desire to get out of the model car business. I was involved from circa 1980 through 1987. With the decrease in value of the dollar to the Euro of almost 50% in the last 5 years, it's difficult, as most of the items come from Europe. In 1984 a BBR model cost me about $35 including shipping and customs duty. BBR models are now over $100 wholesale.

There are also many more people in the business in the US today then 10 years ago, so competition is stiffer, and you don't make much of a profit in realtion to the work involved in getting items.

There still are makers in Europe that insist that you pay in advance, and then you have to wait 6 months to get what you have paid for!

    It's a VERY difficult business....
