This has been a GREAT afternoon,

Earlier this week I ordered a used copy of "Ferrari by Pininfarina"

    for 33.00

Well today the package arrived and when I started opening it, I saw that the book was wrapped in bubble wrap and it was HUGE.
While opening all the wrapping I could tell it was not the book I ordered :(

After I got it opened, it was a PRISTINE EDITION of the book, but it was the HARDBACK VERSION IN A SLIPCASE !!!!!!! WHHHOOO HOOOOO
This thing is next to impossible to find !!

There was a note from the company that said, "this is the hardback edition, I hope you enjoy your book."

I don't know if they were out of the softback and just sent this to be nice or what. But I do know, I'm a happy TIFOSO tonight !!!!!

For those of you who don't have this book, it is a MUST.
By for the best Ferrari book I have seen. 500 pages, early model sketches, timeline, HUNDREDS of color pictures !!!

I highly recommend this book for any Ferrari collector.

Later guys, gotta go get knee deep in new Ferrari Lit !!!!!

Yes, but who did you order it from? That is a great price...Here is information on the revised edition on the publisher's website. With postage from Italy it would be about $125!!....and that is the softbound version!!!

Ferrari by Pininfarina - Technology and beauty (New Updated Edition) :::
    Author/s: Etienne Cornil
    ISBN: 88-7911-277-5
    Publishing date: 2002
    Price €: 78.00

Size: 25 X 28 cms - Pages: 548 - Photos: 1200 in B/W and colour + 46 original styling sketches by Giorgio Alisi - Softbound with flaps - Text: English

The partnership that joined Ferrari with Pininfarina in the construction of the prestigious production cars of the House of Maranello represents a phenomenon that is unique in the annals of the world automotive industry. The partnership spans 50 years, just five fewer than the period spanning the existence of Ferrari iteself; during this time all of the models bearing the prancing horse of Ferrari were systematically entrusted to the renowned Carrozzeria Pininfarina. The book evokes the legendary moments, exploring and remembering the development of the style of the cars built in Maranello, from 1952 to the very last model, officially presented at the Paris Motor Show of October 2002. Notes on the author: Etienne Cornil is considered one of the great names in automotive journalism. Born in Belgium in 1935, he moved to Italy in 1960, and became the technical correspondent for Revue Automobile and for other specialized magazines around the world. In 1969 he left journalism to become the press attaché for Lamborghini and two years later he was hired by Fiat Auto, as director of publications, Commercial and Marketing Division.

Great Deal! I did good today, too. While I was at Media Play picking up the Magnum DVD, they had a large Ferarri coffee table book marked 80% off at $14.00. And the Magnum DVD rang up at $33.

I originally bought the hardcover when it first came out. In NYC a couple of months ago, the bookstore Rizzolis also had the hardcover on sale very cheap so I bought an extra copy.Check with them.

See the thread in the General section on the DVD. Some sillyness, but fun to watch.
