I just met him, and he had some pretty good things to say. Has anyone ever had the opportunity to meet him or listen to any of his shows?

I saw him a few years ago when he came to Alaska as a guest of the University. He had been up for over 24 hours and had just stepped off the plane after a 12hr flight from Florida. Despite that, he was able to answer everyone's questions as though he had a library of medical literature at his disposal. All of that and he was still able to make a few jokes at Adam Corolla's expense.

The originator of the show was Jim "Poorman" Trenton who was recently spotted at CC. Actually I used to live a few doors away from him.

Dr. Drew has become full of himself and over he last 10 years it has rapidly become a show of "why do you people call me? I don't need your drama, I have a book tour to do, so listen to me ramble and STFU!!!"

Edit: Playboy TV's "NightCalls" is a spin on that format but with pornstars, naked girls and equally as bogus calls, but they don't pretend to know it all.

You know, he didn't seem really all that full of himself during the speech. He also did manage a few more jokes at Corolla's expense, which were pretty good. However, to the extent of his speaking abilities, he was not that great. I saw the guy that the movie Hitch was based on speak at Mizzou, and this guy was 10 times better, and was more geared towards dating advice, which is, ahem, very important to us college kids. www.datingdoctor.com is his website, in my mind he blew Dr. Drew out of the water, but that doesn't mean that Dr. Drew didn't have his good points, because he gave a great medical perspective to not only dating and sex, but addictions as well.

Does the Poorman do radio any more? I remember him from the 80s with Richard Blade, who's now on Sirius.
