I just started working in the car business

I have worked in the car business for 2 months and I can't understand why people buy from car dealerships. There prices are high and they treat you like trash. They try to intimidate you to buy a car. I work for a car broker and I make a very small profit on every car I sell. I sold a car today 1000.00 below invoice and it is a current model. I only made a 500.00 profit for my owner. Out of which he has to pay me 125.00 and the rent and light bill. I had a customer e-mail me tonight and tell me they have decided to deal with their local dealer rather than deal with me. It just makes no sense to me considering the dealers overhead. Some people are just more comfortable paying more.
