This is hard to believe, but I may have stumbled on some kind of running 1991-1993 Ferrari project car. I have had Ferraris in the past, just wasn't looking for one right now. I need to find the details on this thing but it seems it is some kind of court liquidation in wisconsin, possibly a bankruptcy sale. Its in a barn and will see it next weekend. I guess it runs kinda, but is a stubborn starter. I might not be in a position to financially complete this project or more importantly, put the time in this to get it running and sorted out. ANYBODY WANNA BUY A 348 THAT RUNS FOR LESS THAN $10,000???

Also this car has salvage title.

I just joined today, but have been reading about 348's the last few days.
I am going to be seeking lots of advice or passing a great deal along......

I am not sure if I should even respond to this for obvious reasons, however if you have any doubt as to whether or not you're "in a position to financially complete this project," then stop now. 348's have a reputation for being the most troublesome and possibly the most costly 8 cylinder Ferraris to work on. While I have no doubt that proper, well sorted cars are reliable and run well with nothing more than routine maintenance, the problem cars are nightmares. You've given virtually zero information on what the car needs and maybe you don't even know. However, there ain't no such this as a free lunch and in the Ferrari world, anything that looks like a free lunch is probably a bean and cheese burrito that will end up costing more than a NY Strip at the Palm (and in the end, you still have that well worn, stigmatized bean and cheese burrito). Do some searches and read up but I'm not telling you anything that 1) you won't find with a search and 2) something most of the other Ferrari owners on this site won't tell you.

I would not attempt to fix it, part it out and quadruple your money. You can sell a door for $2,000, do the math.

I'll take the door harneses, side strakes, instrument binnacle, intake hoses, side mirrors, Motronics, and A/C fan assembly. Ernie and FBB can fight amongst themselves for the cat ecu's and other worthless junk.

This is why these "great deal" cars usually end up selling in the 35-50k range!

I will see it in the next week if my schedule allows me time to investigate a little and ponder If I want to spend my cash on fixing this thing. It is near an airport that has some big experimental aircraft show each year. I guess the body work is minimal, just needs a bunch of little things sorted out. I heard the seat belt retractors don't function. Interior is in good shape, climate control comes up with a "E", rims are curbed and in need of upgrade, has no front fiberglass bumper, no rear fiberglass bumper, no front grille, no driving lights, battery in rear back corner even though it believed to be a 93, no traditional 348 louvers over taillights, missing both front seats. Car is Red with black leather interior and carpet. Missing carpet under front bonnet. chrome plated exhaust from Tobi, has two tops one cloth new in box that folds up, and the original body colored top. No stereo ever installed, some kind of factory plate there. Also some extra big thing with gears inside that looks similiar to whats hanging off the back of the motor, gearbox??? This is the description like I got it. Might be a theft recovery that someone never finished.

That stuff alone is going to add on many thousands in parts alone much less paint and body charges
No rear louvers... maybe it's a special?!?
Add in a couple more grand
    That would be TUBI.
I'm not understanding this last sentence. Either the transmission is missing the clutch and it's cover exposing the transmission gears or maybe it comes with a spare gear box?
Let us know when you see the car. As said above, you might be able to part it out and be on your way to getting a large down payment and buying a nice 348.

Yea, I am thinking its a spare gearbox if thats what is, the car runs and moves and it couldn't do that without having those. Is there a copy cat stainless named Tobi or would that need to be a tubi??? I was also told the car by its serial number came with leather cover fiberglass/carbon fiber?? seats???????????

ohh supposely there is something thats a half circle with padded leather
with some kind of leather pouch, it is a sybian machine.....??????
