Saw this ad on craigslist, eek! Looking to purchase a Ferrari car We are looking to purchase a Ferrari 360 modena car. From year 1999 and up. Clean tittle will pay around $50,000 salvage tittle will pay around 2/3 of price.
Even at the lower end of the market, there's pretty strong support at the 62-66k level. 50k is crazy. I'm also looking to buy a 360, and it'd be dream to find a decent one at that price! But that's 355 money (or about the price of my former love, a black/tan 1987 TR) Patrick
That doesnt sound too far fetched... I know of sellers on this forum that have sold high mileage 99s (35k+ miles) with not the most popular colors for $59K..but clean, well maintained, etc... So "around" $50K sounds reasonable...it could be $55K which is probably likely with a car with say 45K+ miles...
prices are dropping but too how low,01 spiders are going from 79-85k and 02s are high 80s,,for what the 360s are going for your getting alot for your money,im working on a 01 360 spider .
That's about right on the money, actually. Auction/ManH prices on 360 yield a $50-55K price is not out of control. I sold my 99 360 with ~28K miles for $60K and I think I got ALL the money. I know of a 2001 Coupe, red on tan, 22,000 miles for $67K. He can't sell it.
That's good news for buyers (like me), bad news for those who have owned them a while and need to sell now. Strange, I have been watching them for some time (as I saved enough to pay cash) and recently there seems to have been a slight peak UP in demand/sales. For example, an average cond. 2000 F1, with not the most desirable color combo (silver/blue) recently sold (twice) on eBay for 72k and 74k, I believe it was. I was astounded as I did not expect the car to make more than 62-64k. Also, I notice that prices for 2004 Gallardos, good cond with about 7-10k miles, are now MUCH higher than they were this past winter. Last winter nobody was buying even at 80k-84k, now those same cars are selling at 90-95k. Amazing. Think I will wait 'til January to make my purchase! Best, Patrick
50k is pretty light for a 360. High 60's to low 70's seems to be the going price for low mile early 360. They did make around 15,000 of these cars, so there are going to be some abused cars that will sell for less. Also, there are distressed sellers these days. Real problem is for 355 owners. I just looked through Ebay at those and they are down in the high 40's to low 50's. Why buy a maintenance headache for 50k when you can buy a 360 for 68k? I was at a car meet on Saturday and talked to a guy who put $20k into his 355 the first year he had it.
I'd love to see a clean, well maintained 360 for $70k. I'm in the market and heck I'd buy it tomorrow. In my car search experience over the last couple months I haven't found anything of the sort. I'm sure there are cheap cars out there, but cheap for a reason.
01 spiders silver I've seen even at some ferrari dealers for asking price of $89k 02 red/tan spider at ferrari dealer 11k miles asking price is $105k Sportscarcompany sold a really nice white 02 spider on ebay for $90k but it had the zebra daytonas
2000 Red/tan coups around 15 or 16k miles at Ferrari Auth dealers for asking price of $79k other color combos for a little less. Prices are in the $70k range for clean cars now.
Agreed, the $79k cars are certainly there, but $70k is another ballgame. Those are what I was hoping for an example of. I simply haven't seen a clean one in that range in my experience. (Red/tan also)
Yep. Check ferrari of new england. they have a certified pre-owned 01 silver F1 with 13k on the clock and asking $74k. They probably took the car on a trade for the high $50ks. I imagine they would knock a few grand off of the asking price as well just to move it.
I was up there last week. From what they say alot of those cars they have are discounted as low as they can go, because they own them for more in some cases. But thats just dealer talk I guess.
my brother in law just took is 2004 black blsck 360 spider 11k miles to Ferrari of Atlanta to trade in on a 430 they offered him 80k for it
I can say that in the not quite 5 months since I bought my red '04 360 F1 Spider it seems that the price for a similar car has dropped $10k and it is a mint condition fully optioned car that originallly sold for $225k OTD. So prices still seem to be dropping pretty fast. But 430 prices seem to be dropping even faster as the delta between a 430 spider and a 360 spider is definaltly smaller now than when I was looking. At the time it was too much of a delta for me to justify and even now that is also the case, but not as extreme.
last august my 2000 modena with 6k miles and every option cost me over 110k, which is actually 120k since they raped me by 10k on the lotus trade in.. from what people say here I lose 30-40k in the last year too.. it is a bit shocking... but thankfully I got a car I truly wanted and love so I will keep her for awhile!
Pano enjoy it, that is the most important thing in life, don't look back as there will always be these threads on how low prices can go. I have been looking for a Clean Low Mile nice color 430, and finally found the right car, and even if I lose on it or pay too much now, it is better than some of these low priced dogs I have actually seen in person. The right car is always worth more.
no I agree.. and I looked for months.. I got the best deal I could for a pristine car at the time.. that is the bottom line I have no regrets
I've got a feeling as time goes by and the economy doesn't improve, we'll see plenty of 360's in that range. I honestly don't think you'll have to wait that long either. I wouldn't be surprised to see the economy and the market dipping next year around tax season. With commercial real estate and comsumer credit defaults causing another round of bankfailures, cash buyers will be able to get some stellar deals on the 360 generation. Peter Oh
The price for 360's is still too high if you ask me. It's an old car, some more than 10 years, mass produced, and it's not even close to being as good as any of modern sports car in it's price range. I really think that outside of brand new AMG's, the 360 -- especially the the spider -- is the most overpriced car on the market still.
