He drives behind the best of the best. This year his car sucks. I hope Ferrari keeps him after MS retires.
I like Rubens also. You couldn't ask for a better teammate - knowing that you will always only be second and accepting that and then doing an exceptional job for the team . . . . what a guy! He's doing exactly what Michael is doing, making the absolute best of a not-so-good situation at the present time. Carol
He plays his assigned role well. However I would love to see some fresh blood in that seat. In general I don't like teams that have the same drivers year after year. Whether that's Mc Laren or Ferrari, doesn't matter.
I still remember all those great drives he has put in to end up on the podium even after a bad qualifying or mechanical issues. He is a true team player and will always be honored by true Ferrari fans for his great contribution. Rubens is a true CHAMPION, a 5 time WORLD CHAMPION by helping Ferrari win 5 titles in a row! PS: Correction 5 titles! EI should be credited for 1999.
Yes I just made the change Eddie should be credited for 1999. He was part of the World Championship wining team. That make Eddie a champion too. There is no F1 team that can win the World Constructor's title with just one driver scoring all the points. F1 is a team sport and both drivers should be considered as champions.
By that logic, there will be a lot of WCs all of the sudden. Look, I agree that F1 is a team sport, and yes, team-mates needs to learn to help each other and that team order is necessary sometimes. This is why there are 2 WC, the Driver's and the Constructors. WDC is more about individual achievement, and the WCC is for the team. The #2 drivers are already part of the WCC, and let it be just that. Don't dilute the WDC by bringing in every single bridesmaid. And yes, RB needs to go. I think he needs to know how lucky he has been to be driving for Ferrari during the glory years. Ferrari has made him a very wealthy man and has padded his F1 career stats through out. Yes, he has always been the #2 driver but that is where he belongs if he is ever in a top tier team such as Ferrari, McLaren, Williams and Renault. I think he will only take over the #1 driver spot if he is on a second tier teams such as the Toyota, Honda or Sauber.
