Yeah, might be enough to run the generator to recharge a few cars, that's about it. Cross country driving under those circumstances is simply not viable.

On the same topic, recently I was discussing vehicle rechargers with a friend (a BTC) who owns many high rise office towers in national CBD's with car parks underneath. He can't / won't fit EV rechargers to his buidlings because the insurers won't provide coverage for EV related fires.
So chargers have to be outside. But not a lot of vacant outdoor parking in the CBD's of capital cities, which means the vehicles have to be charged at home. There's also a fire risk there as well, but the key thing is that vehicles will be charged when they return home in the evenings, which is the peak energy demand period (and when there is no free / clean "solar" as the sun has set). So the vehicles will be charged from baseload power, which is powered by coal & gas.

But they also handle brilliantly... nothing like the average ‘floater’. I wouldn’t swap my cars for one, but for the average punter they are way better than much of what’s on the roads today.
