He had a 550 but it was hurt. After a few years, he realizes he needed another front engine V-12, the real car. He is right. My only questions about the 599 are how does the engine get its air and does the air leaving the engine compartment make the driver warm if he, like me, drives with the window open?

Don't you mean incoherent??? They are cryptic but look at them like the word jumble in the comic section. They are fun to figure out!

I believe the air cometh from within with some substance. The air is hot and heavy and blankets the driver with leather smelling comfort. Windows or not but sometimes a little too much need to be open.

He's writing a cryptic thought provoking revelation. He's got a 550 but it's hurting - not happy with it, needs a new car. He's in love with upcoming 599GTB. He wants it, but wants to know how the engine breathes. He's also curious if driving with the windows down, will all the hot air coming from the engine enter the passenger cabin.

He also needs to make more coherent posts.

Wait. This happens to be a brilliant and profound question. Bart's concerned about the car's aerodynamics, venting and laminar airflow pattern.

Now that he mentions it, it does look like the engine vents off the quarter panels look like they might be adding hot air directly into the airflow directed toward the windows. But, they could be wheel well vents to help reduce pressure in the wheel well. Does anyone know if they're engine vents or wheel well vents?

I have spoken to a couple of Lotus Elise owners who've said that the radiator air does wrap around the windshield and into the cabin if the windows are down making it a bit too much on hot days.

I think he might have a very valid question.

Bart, keep the 550 and buy the 599, I am sure you won't get too toasty in the 599.
