I Miss You Guys

Mara, where have you been hiding? Long time no see. There's a nasty rumor out there that you just had a birthday, so Happy Birthday!!! You are right, it's been difficult getting the old SSF group together for dinners since Martin and Gaby moved waaaay south. It would be great to get the old gang back together for a bite and a tasty beverage. I'm up for it, anyone else? Anyone???

Mara, wherever you are, pick an evening that works for you and we'll drag some other partecipants out.
As a venue I would suggest Piola in Hallendale, as it is in between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale and there is ample parking, but I am open to any other suggestion.

 

She's probably zippin' around a race track, somewhere.

 

I had suggested Boca as it is between Ft Laud and Palm Beach, do we have people who want to come up from Miami?

 

That Italian place on US1 near Glades was really good. Lots of good parking, not near any popular areas, and great food! I'm in for it after this weekend. I think it was the location of the very first monthly dinner, maybe we just reset and start there again? I also like Scruby's BBQ off 595 that we went to a few times. No Champppppps, please?

We had many, many events and monthly dinners. However, some were crowded while others were not well attended. It got frustrating planning things, holding parking spots & tables at restaurants when sometimes there would be only a few cars and people for a bunch of reserved spots and a huge table, or having many people show up that didn't rsvp then complain that there wasn't enough parking or tables to sit at..........

My suggestion for anyone who wants to go to dinner or do something.....step up and plan it. Otherwise, it will end up being just a bunch of opinions and armchair quarterbacks.......

 

I suggest Fred's house for a bar-b-que. I hear that his place is really nice, plenty of parking and a cooperative HOA. Besides, Fred is one mean mamba jamba on that BBQ. Lets all just show up there next tuesday

 

Second Tuesday of September is the 12th.

There is an Italian restaurant just off of the Turnpike at the Glades Road exit. Actually two in the same plaza. Years ago we did an event at one of them, the owner actually hired a photographer to take photos of all the cars in front.

And across the street, there is a Greek restaurant, that actually serves ouzo.

This might be too far for those from Miami, but then the count should be the determining factor. Five people in Miami verses say 15 in Boca makes a difference.

I am back this Tuesday, I can arrange it for the 12th, but there has to be an accurate count.
