Those specs should be in the workshop manual.

Nope...the workshop manual shows the journals and the throws diameters, but not the crankshaft snout where the front seal contacts it. I did a NO-NO and scaled the drawing in the manual...and it calculates out to be approximately 34.65mm at the snout.

Kerry....have you determined this dimension yet?

Haven't gotten a dimension yet Jeff! Thanks for the research though.

Ernie the shop manual doesn't give that info!?!?

Anybody out there have any ideas?

By the way Jeff the "Neon" will be our frugal secret!!! LOL

I've got an idea but it may not be correct. I have a 400 and the main journals are the same size as on my 365 BB, in fact the main bearings are the same part number. I also looked at the front oil seal in the parts manuals and this is the same part number. I would therefore assume the cranks are ground to the same sizes. Does this sound right?

I have my 400 crank out on the bench at the momnet and I will measure it tonight and let you have the dimension. It may be different but if this is in the ballpark with your scaled up measurement from the picture then my assumption may be correct.

OK, I measured my 400 crank it it is 36.55 +/- 0.03mm. Don't know if this helps or not.

Can I ask why you want to know?

Reason being is that the seal has been replaced 3 times and continues to leak.........So...........I am going to order a redi-sleeve to install and see if this ceases the leak. Thanks for doing the "homework' for me. I just want to get the sleeve in hand previous to pulling the engine thanks, Kerry
