    $1000 is a good deal, assuming it's in good shape. Lot's of stores sell these watches, take it by an authorized dealer and ask them if it's authentic.

    I have 17 reps and 4 gen watches. Don't be afraid of that being a fake, it isn't. Just buy it if you like it and enjoy. Don't waste time worrying or spending money to try to determine if it's fake. If you get the watch and it isn't the one pictured, then be worried, but I'm certain that won't happen if that person has sold there before. Enjoy your new watch if you get it!

    This watch isn't from Amazon, I found it elsewhere. It has all boxes, paperwork, and warranty information... I just want to be extra special careful (as I have seen people ebaying real boxes and paperwork for other luxury brands).

    I will take it by Tourneau, as that's where I service my other watches!

    Any ideas on service life for these watches? The internet has been giving me next to nothing in terms of reviews.

    I have had a Hampton Steel for about 6 years and it has been fine.

    That's a nice watch and you're paying the right money for it. :)

    I met with the seller, and went over this timepiece.

    For a $5,000 watch, it feels fake, and poorly made.

    I would not recommend this particular B+M to anyone.

    bought my wife a B and M watch for xmas. it went directly into the safe for 3 yrs. when she decided to wear it daily we sent it to B and M for a battery. they said it needed a full service due to wear. $300. this was on a brand new, never worn watch from nordstroms!
    felt ripped off.

    You were ripped off - what did the full service of a quartz watch consist of? Tell me you didn't pay $300 for a $10 battery service at any watchmaker or jeweler?

    For the amount of money these watches command, you would expect a higher caliber of craftsmanship.

    Thinking the example I saw was a fake, I went to tourneau to verify the quality of this particular timepiece with another example of the same timepiece.

    I was sorely disappointed.
