    Hi all!

I am a proud owner of a 1983 Ferrari Koenig turbo. Unfortunately one of the pistons is damaged and I thought it would be a good idea to replace them all now that the engine is apart. I am not a mechanic so I don’t have a clue were to look for the right piston. I hope that someone in this forum can point me In the right direction. You see the number on the pictures and I am grateful for all the help I can get were I should turn to, to get the right piston.

    Best Regards

Koenig Specials are still in business so maybe give them a call and find out where they sourced the pistons?

JE Pistons may be able to recreate it for you but you would likely have to send one for them to copy and it would likely only make financial sense to replace all 8 (or 16 and sell a set to another Koenig owner and split the development cost).

I recommend JE pistons as well. You will want to replace all of your pistons. I have a turbo QV and I think I payed about $1700 USD 12 years ago. I think the pistons in your photo are a very old design. JE already has a piston design in stock. Have them look under Bob Norwood. I recommend stainless steel top rings (properly gapped) so you don't have the issue in you photo again. It looks like your rings broke from detonation. It is very difficult to keep the right fuel mixture (maybe impossible) using a Bosch mechanical injection system (if that is what you are using). JE will know exactly what you want.
    Good luck
