Spoke to my mechanic today who told me that I need a digiplex box!

I am looking, but I am hoping for some advice. First of all, does anyone know where I can find one? New, used, re-built...what do you think?

I'm not having much luck so far...they look like they are very expensive new.

My car is a 1980 GTSI.

    Thanks!!

    Frank

I think the current wisdom is to retro fit a MSD type ignition in the old housing......

Search on that, the Dino guys do it all the time.

    Frank,
I have two, both recently used for testing on a buddy's car. Both from also from a 1980 GTSi. Send me a PM and we can work something out.

    Can these not be rebuilt/repaired?

Not applicable to a 308 with any type of Digiplex box, as the box provides both spark and ignition advance. The Dino guys still use their distributor to "create" the advance curve...

Limited repairs can be made to the externally mounted (from the PC board) to the advance unit...otherwise, not practical as the main guts are encapsulated in epoxy.

We repair/match advance curves here from time to time of Digiplex boxes of all years...
