I bought some parts from Ted Rutland at the end of last october. I think one of the items
was not the correct one for my 1970 -L series and I wrote to Ted. I sent many mails in the
last two months without any answer. Do you have any input about the reputation of his
    company ?
    Thanks in advance.

I have purchased parts from him and no problem. Try calling them.

    Save yourself some trouble.

POst a picture here of the part, and the part number, and I'm SURE someone will know if it's right or not.

Once you have that figured out, then you can contact Ted.

Thank you very much Dave. It's an excellent suggestion. Next week I will take
    the picture to post here.

    Alvaro,

If the kits are for Girling calipers, you might compare with:

    http://www.superformance.co.uk/a-246/brakes.htm

You will notice that you are missing the figure "eight" dust seals.

To me, they look right, as "L" series had Girling, yet I would definitely advise against a simple seal replacement, unless you have fully disassembled your calipers and 100% certain of their condition and quality. After all, if you are really restoring the car, you will need to re-plate the calipers.
I would install stainless steel pistons.
Mine were horribly corroded and had to send them to a "professional" in the USA.
Sorry about the bad news, as I understand perfectly well where we live, and the problems with shipping. Hopefully, your country is more prepared than mine and you can perform the various operations there...

    Regards, Alberto

    Thank you Alberto.
I can see the kit is different. The problem is that Ted Rutland don't answer my mails in
order to change them for the correct ones.
    I'm disappointed with Ted's service.
I will not recommend to buy from him.
I will need a lot of parts for the complete restorations, so I will buy them from Superformance or Eurospares. They answer your inquires.

Alberto, thanks again. They answered my mail and I'm in the way to return the kit
(that is not for my L series) and change it for other part.
