All, I need your help As many of you know, although I currently have a successful corporate job in the Telecommunications industry, my passion lies in real estate and I would like to pursue a career path in construction and development. As a successful real estate investor since 1996, I have extensive knowledge of residential, commercial and pre-developed properties, as well as contracts, leasing, evaluating, rehabbing, managing, financing and marketing real estate. My experience also includes legal knowledge of mortgages, construction, renovation, tenant/landlord relationships and closings. Furthermore, I have an active Florida Real Estate Brokers license as well as a Florida Mortgage Brokers license. Over 10 years of real estate experience, combined with a financial, operational, analytical and business negotiation background makes me an excellent candidate for any organization. However, it appears that one of the main hurdles that I need to overcome is that most recruiters and/or HR departments have specific requirements that dont exactly match up to my background. For example, suppose the job requirements call for 5-7 years as a Construction Project Manager, etc. This has handicapped me for the opportunities that have been presented to me, as well as my ability to get in the door for interviews. I am confident that if a company takes a chance on me, despite my learning curve for construction/development, they will find that my internal qualities of hard work, desire to succeed, attention to detail, and aspiration to learn will result in the company being pleased with their decision. However, I need to get in the door. Therefore, I would like any information, suggestions, contacts or direction you may have that could help in my endeavors. In addition, if you know of anyone in, or related to the construction or development industry, please inquire if they would like to hire someone with my background. I appreciate your help. Feel free to PM me, or e-mail me directly at [email protected] Thanks! Fred
I'll try to see what my contacts in the construction industry might have to offer. Good luck in the search! BT
Paulie - I haven't posted my resume online. The HR department here trolls the job sites looking for employees that have their resumes online. I am fairly high up at my company, so I don't want to have any alarms sound that I am looking. I am trying to maintain my current position until something better comes along. Hi Julian - Yes, I am currently in Telecom. PM sent.
