I got new emblems for my 308 and decided to bust some chops with another forum I visit and posted this picture there.

On second thought, you guys might not find it as funny as I did either!

    Oh well here goes:

I don't like it at all. The shield of the Scuderia is different from the standard Ferrari emblem, yet, people treat them like they are interchangeable. Traditionally, the shield of the Scuderia was placed on the front fender of the Alfas and eventually Ferraris that went and did battle for Enzo. As a racing enthusiast and long time tifosi, I believe the shield has no place on Ferrari road cars that lack a racing pedigree or are not actively tracked. Its akin to painting numbers on your daily driver.

Now you are taking it one step further and slapping the shield on the front of the car. It certainly is not traditional, although the shield did make its appearance on the front end of the 1935 Alfa Romeo Bimotore and possibly others for all I know. Nonetheless, on a road car it look like you are trying to hard...like normal people won't know its a Ferrari unless you have a big fat emblem on front.

However, at the end of the day, its your car... Do whatever you like. Its just a car and the shield is no different than a Philadelphia Eagles jersey or anything else. Its not like you are burning an American Flag at a Veteran's parade.

Life is too short to worry about what others, including jacka$$es like me, think. Do what you wish. If you are asking me, I vote no...but that's just my .02

Dude, you're missing the joke. The emblem's on the front of a Viper (I think, maybe a Corvette). LOL. :)

It succeeds at the "jarring effect"....one expects to not see an F-car badge, but that requires a car to work properly.

Hmmm. When his second link said, they are actually going on this... I assumed he was trying to replicate the Viper look (with the big snake emblem) on his Ferrari by replacing the traditional emblem with the scuderia shield.

If he is putting the emblem on the viper, even if as a joke, he should have had it. The viper is distinctive enough that nobody who knows anything about cars would confuse it for a Ferrari.

    WOW!!!!

It is on there with some tape for about a minute to take a picture. It was (and is ) supposed to be ridiculous.

The car is a Viper, and always has had, and always will have the proper Viper logo's on it.

Relax, as a car guy for all my life, and a host of a local TV car show, I wouldn't put the wrong badges on anything.

    I still think it's funny!

Ya. I think you probably figured by now that I misunderstood your post and assumed you were planning on sticking the scuderia emblem, which you had temporarily affixed over your Viper's emblem, on your 308 in the same fashion.

As far as me relaxing, I think you are misreading the tone of my post. I would never get worked up over something as silly as a misplaced emblem. You can put anything you want on any car you want. I just offered you my opinion--admittedly based on a misunderstanding. If you want to stick a hello kitty sticker on your Ferrari or your Viper--have at it. If life has taught me anything its that, in the grand scheme of things, who really gives a cr&p.

My post was more reflective of the use of the Scuderia shield on street cars generally and my perception that you were about to take it a step further and slap it right on the nose of your 308.

To that end, I never really got behind the use of the shield on street cars. I understand that they look cool, and to the extent they are symbols of support for the scuderia--like hats or t-shirts- I get that too, but I truly believe they should be left for track cars and the scuderia team.

But again, this is just my personal opinion...no reason for anyone to get worked up about it.

    We're all good!

Now, that idea of the "hello kitty" sticker..... Hmmm... I got a great idea. :)

As time goes on you will find I have sometimes twisted sense of humor, and I am seldom serious.

    Steve,

Me too...as you can probably tell by my posts in the regional section. I'm glad you weren't offended by my miscellaneous ramblings as it certainly wasn't my intent.

    See you at C&C!

I'll bring the hello kitty sticker ;)
