So I met with my flight instructor today. He has been flying for twice as long as I've been alive, so I feel like I'm in good hands. First he went over all the boring paper work, I signed some waiver that said I wouldn't hold him responsible if the plane crashed into an orphanage. Then he took me out to see the Cessna 152 we'd be later be flying.

It immediately turned me into a 5 year old with a new toy. I examined the cockpit and asked a million questions all the while with a big grin on my face. Even though I had seen planes before, this was my plane. It was like my first time driving in a Ferrari. You try to keep a straight business like composure but you just can't.

And I thought flying across state lines would be akin to getting a passport to North Korea, but it isn't. Within a couple months I could be flying solo to other states. That is so cool.

    I think I'm in love :D

And by 'my plane' I don't mean that I legally own it, more in the 2 year old "it's mine" way.

I know exactly how you feel.

You know what the best part is????

I still feel that way every time I get in the plane.

Saturday is coming up quick, and by quick I mean that time has come to a complete standstill. I can't wait.

Been having some trouble with the weather lately so I've only been up two times. But what times they were. I saw my house from the air! I flew all over my county. When I passed over the BMW dealership I felt like yelling, "don't get that 7 series, get one of these!"

What is there to say. I can turn the plane pretty well and stay within an altitude range of 75 feet, I'm sure a lot of people here could do it within 1 millimeter but I'll get there. It's just a complete wow experience. I don't even get airsick!

I had practiced on Flight Simulator X which was surprisingly realistic. In fact I took a turn a little too confidently for my instructor because of my previous 'flight training'

In 9 hours, weather permitting, I'll be up in the air again. Then I'll drive my roadster to a car meet, then I'll be going snowboarding. When did life become so much fun?

    Get used to this...........

Weather can make it difficult to log the hours.

Good luck & I support your enthusiasm!

haha thank you mystery spam bot!

Since I made the OP I've been up for 19 hours. I'll be closing the deal and soloing soon.

My original instructor had a heart attack, he's ok but can't fly for another couple months. So I've been flying with two other instructors from the club. Life is good.

After well over 20 years of flying, I still feel the same way every time I walk up to the plane.

Ferraris are great, but there isn't anything like 'your plane'.
I will go as far to say even a 152 beats every Ferrari as far as tactile fun. I am of course, very biased...

    Have fun!!!!!

I loved the 152 because it had great visibility all around except up and it bounced so well. WWWWeeeeeeeeeeeeee:D:D Everyone learning needs bounce once, so we learn how not to fly into the ground.

While my 328 doesn't bounce, I do get to drive more often than I did fly.
