Driving home from work in the 348 with the top down, I stopped at a traffic light when some school kids about 10 yrs old passed the street.
One of the kids shouted "Rev it!"

So I did, and when the traffic light eventually turned green I floored it, and boy, did that put a smile on all their faces!

One of the good sides of F-car ownership!

How many times have we all seen this one?

You're sitting at a red light in first position. You look in the rearview mirror and see four people (in the car behind you) looking at you... front seat pair stretching to see the cavallino and the rear twos' ears touching while leaning over together, all smiling.

How can anyone deny them the burnout they yearn for???

    I can't! :D

I had a funny situation yesterday:

I went to the Motor Vehicle Inspection Station to get my new 328 inspected. First I pulled into lane 1 and an older guy with a clipboard came up to the car. He asked me (in a serious and professional voice) to rev the engine. He then went to the back of the car and said "Again please." After that he came up and said with a smile, "That's not part of the inspection. I just love the noise these things make!" As the inspection was coming to a close, two inspectors called me over to the car. I noticed that the female inspector was holding a sticker so I breathed a sigh of relief. At that point she said "I'll give you this sticker on one condition. You have to light these tires up on the way out of here." I couldn't believe my ears! "Excuse me, I said." She continued, "If you don't light up them tires I'm gonna take the sticker back." She had a very serious look on her face. Not one to dissapoint, I made quite a scene on my way out of there to much applause. It made my morning! :)

While working for The University of Georgia for 10 years I had a group of grade school kids get off a bus & surround my car saying,” That is a race car. Don’t get too close, it probably has one of those alarms.” It was my RX7.

I had the "rev it up" very often, typically when I roll slowly through a small village. But what do you do, when you have the F1 tranny? You can't press the clutch and rev the engine, you have to gear down and accelerate. But even if I risk my drivers licence, I do it. They deserve it.
