This is the first convertible I have really spent much time in and I think that I may want to move into a coupe. One of the things I like best about cars is the level of privacy that you can get with tint etc. The Spyder feels a bit too much like "hey look at me", and I am a tall guy so I look like a shriner!! I am looking at a few 360 coupes and am curious to find out what my car would be worth in a sale or trade. The car is a 1996 with 22k miles, just had $24k worth of work by central florida ferrari in October of '05 including new manifolds, cats, clutch, dash covering, axle boots, belts, on and on...... I have also added a Tubi , challenge grill, and the HRE 547's. I still have all of the stock parts as well. I know that there are a few of you out there that know what I paid for the car but I am curious what a sale would bring as it sits or what a reasonable trade value would be.

I don't know the answer to your question, but that car is beautiful. Those wheels are gorgeous!

    andrew is right y'know :)

there's no reason you couldn't tint the side windows just the same as on a coupe. the plastic rear window might be an issue but i'd be dumbfounded if someone hadn't already figured that one out somewhere.

it sounds like you've got a FULLY sorted 355. it's a GREAT car. don't ditch it capriciosly - you could easily end up with a 360 coupe that needs a lot of sorting.

it IS a beatiful car. good luck with your decision/proces.

    doody.

Yes, it was a special promotion if you bought the button that lowered the top.

Seriously, I've had several convertibles/targas and I know what you mean. The targa design offers more privacy and I love them. But I generally put the top down (or remove it) at dusk and rarely in midday sun anyway. Destroys the interior, destroys your skin, etc. When it's not broad daylight, the privacy thing seems to be less of a concern.

I don't know ... if I just spent $24K making a Ferrari perfect I think I'd hang onto it. You know you'll never recoup (srry...) all or most of that money.

I mean, that's one sickeningly gorgeous car you have.

Well, you can have the best of both worlds if you get a 355 GTS.

I like the utility the removable top on my 328 gives me, and the 355's is better because the top is better integrated in the design. (With the top in place a 355 GTS is hard to tell from a berlinetta, especially if it's one of the ones on which the top is body-color.)

The problem is, there are far fewer 355 GTS's for sale at any given time than berlinettas or spiders. Good luck finding one if you go that route!

Can't help you much on the pricing... but your car is PERFECT looking!!! I love the 355s in black. WOW! Living in Florida - if you sold the spider for a coupe, would you miss the open-top after a while? I bet I would.

Shoot Dude just tint the truck windows, get it lowered, install a 4 inch exhaust, put an Edge Comp box on it with Bully Dog V injuctors and a big honking turbo.:) You'll have all the privacy you want and it will be almost as fast as the 355 and you can keep the cool car.

Brett I have a 97 355 Spider and have pretty much done exactly what you have to the car. I went through the same thought process about a month ago and found even with all I had done the going price was 80K to 85K for the car unless someone wanted just the add ons that the car had then maybe 90K. I decided as was suggested in one of the other posts to keep the 355 having gotten it to this point, the extra cost of a 360 just does not get you that much in Florida I would stay with the convertibile and put the top up more. Enjoy the investment you have made in a great looking car.
