i opened the garage door yesterday, and there was a puddle around the left rear tire. i touched it and smelled it but frankly it did not feel like gas, but more like greasy water. so i dont really know what the deal is. i looked all around etc but could not determine what it was.

so given that i cannot take it anywhere before monday, does anybody have any advice on this issue??

If you have a gas can, you could pour some fuel into the tank and then see if it leaks out

    Personally I wouldn't do that.

I'd dump kitty litter on the spill, ventilate the room, shut off any source of ignition and get it towed out of your house asap.

Whatever you do, don't start the car until the source of the leak is diagnosed.

By your description and the location of the small leak, sounds like coolant, not gas...especially because very unlikely you'll ever find gas under the car unless it just happened as it will evaporate very very quickly.

correct you are! i was just getting on here to tell you all that it was in fact coolant. tanks are fine.

the problem is that garage has several older ferraris and other cars, and its quite tight, so the smell of gasoline is pervasive at all times regardless of whether there is a real issue or not.

anyway, problem solved. all ok. thankfully !

Exactly, which is why I ask which side of the car.
