I don't know how reliable Quora is but they had this story about Bieber's Fazazz. Maybe because i am a capitalist like him, I think once you own it you should be able to do with it whatever you want. Plus if he gets ink because of hi modification, it could be write off as publicity...He also has aroll with custom body.....

Why does Ferrari sue its own customers?

Ferrari has a very strict policy regarding its cars.

First: Ferrari has rules that dictate that an owner cannot sell their car in the first year and that they inform the company beforehand so it has the option of buying it back.

Second: You can not (for the first 5 years) change the internal parts of the car.

Third: Most importantly , you can not change the color, the logo or external parts. Unauthorized modifications are frowned upon.

Justin Bieber, the singer did not comply with the rules. A) He repainted the car (with an electric blue). Violated the code of conduct with the paint job on his white Ferrari 458 Italia. B) Auctioning it C) Carried out modifications "flared fenders" and "aftermarket rims".

(after the story they add that he sold it for over $400,000)

Ferrari can also do what they want. If they don't like the way you represent the brand then they can ax you as a customer and keep you from buying new and special cars. That's really their only recourse unless you change their logo or use it without permission.

I think this is all hype... and for no real reason.

yes, if you purchase a new Ferrari and then turn to flip it - FNA and SpA will not like it - because you are literally competing with them using their own product. they then also don't have to see you another car... and would have legal precedent to back them up.

as for all the rest - you can do what you like - but Ferrari don't have to honor the warranty. so If you flash the car, or change mechanical items - they are no longer obligated to warranty the car - which is usually the same with all other OEM manufacturers.

I know for a fact of a football player who bought a new F-12 and had the most hideous paint job on the car - but the dealer carried out all the scheduled warranty work etc... we are talking awful wrap, wheels, etc... super tacky... I think Bieber is just fodder for the un informed.

Given what's out there, the Beiber mods shown above aren't really that offensive IMHO.

    Horrible article missing many contexts.
Rule 1 is to prevent flipping. Rule 2 is warranty related; this applies to all manufacturers. Rule 3 is false; only for commercial purposes.

Businesses can decide with whom they do business, not based on bigoted reasons. Bad taste not being one of them.

Do a little homework before you post another poorly written clickbait article.
