I did my yellow tach face and red needles last year and never noticed this until this year when I was stuck in traffic for first time. Then I freaked out and noticed that my oil temp needle was touching the red line. I was worried and shut off car for an hour and drove it home. Checked everything, coolant temp was always normal, oil dipstick looked great.

Then it hit me when talking to fellow 360 buddy. My needle is somehow on wrong. I must've moved the needle somehow when putting cluster back together.

Picture 1 is the needle with NO key in ignition. Picture 2 is just Key on, engine off.

I can think of two ways to correct this just not sure which way. Do I just key on engine off and move the needle over to the zero mark? Or 2nd choice, take the needle off the post and place it back the distance I lack without rotating the post? Of coarse both ways involves taking cluster apart anyways. I just do wanna further mess this up.

*** Also, can anyone with a STOCK cluster post a pic with the same 2 key off and key on scenarios so I (and probably others) can see what our clusters should be???

Picture one must indicate that there was some residual heat in the water... But should be lower. Iirc it should be at or below 120 at cold key on.

Take the cluster apart and re-seat the needle
