Does it say anywhere on your i tunes application how many times any one file has been burned on to a CD? the limit for ripping a file/ song is 7 but if you dont keep track, and that file/song has been ripped more than 7 times, it will cancel your disc burn w/out forewarning. Very annoying plus you have to chuck the CD. If anyone knows I'd appreciate any info.
    TIA

You can only burn a specific playlist so many times. All you have to do is change up the playlist a little bit, and then you can burn it some more.

There's a program called jhymn that will strip the DRM from iTunes songs. I've never used it though (no reason to remove my drm...) so I can't tell you how well it works. Be aware that using it is most likely a violation of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (which makes it illegal to circumvent copyright protection).

I have heard of verious ways where you can get itunes songs for free some legal, some not. I know my cousin was able to get hundreds of songs thru a combination of music match and another program, so they are not really way ahead of anybody as far as preventing people from geting free itunes.

So I guess the application doesnt show how many times a song has been ripped?

I really dont care about paying a buck a song. Beats paying 12-16 bucks for a CD. Plus its so damn convenient.
I actally like the i tunes model. Very user friendly and has a better selection than most stores.

Why try to cheat the artists and the music companies out of pocket change? I just dont see the upside.
