I am always against modifications of Ferraris but I saw a thread like this on the forum and it looks very stylish.

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/2010-458-prior-design.618521/

I always wanted a Ferrari but I was going to buy a Huracan I like its look better. But after seeing this body kit I went back to the 458, what do you think? This body kit adds a hypercar look and suppresses the Huracan in appearance.Ferrari has always had a classic style look on the Huracan, but it has covered up the Huracan's lack of space-like appearance.

If decide to sell 458 after driving it for 4-5 years, will it lose value because of this prior design body kit? Prior design is a special body kit, we all know that body kits like Mansory etc. add value to a car even if I don't like them, will the same be true for Prior design? Or what would be the opinion if I re-installed the used 458 bumpers and hood during the sales phase and sold it? And sell kit separately?

It's your car so go with what pleases you, however it won't be to everyone's taste so a factor to consider when it comes to sell.

you do you for sure. The full kit looks great and, to my taste, it takes away any of the 'age' a 458 might be showing in its original design.

That said, I don't think I'd mess with a pristine 458 - they have gained collector status and pricing for good examples keeps creeping up. Id opt for one that has a minor story or higher miles so the loss in value wouldn't cut as deeply.

You do you, but body modifications on a Ferrari drastically limit your buyer pool when it comes time to sell.

It's your car but just know it will lose more value than a stock Ferrari. About all you can do is lower on springs and do an exhaust with some value loss in the market but after that values really plummet.

I still wouldn't pick a perfect 458 to do this to; however, I don't agree with any of this being a permanent dive in the value of your car. Yes, post mod it narrows your next owner prospects but this isn't as invasive as a Liberty Walk kit. Everything looks reversible. So, if you kept your parts stored for the next owner it would just be a matter of passing them on to the next owner or reversing your mod when it comes to selling.

No permanent harm done to the car; just expenses to consider on labor and costs of kit and how you will choose to prepare for when its time for you to move to your next car.

As someone currently in the market for a 458 I can tell you right now that I wouldn't be interested in that car, even at a steep discount.

Like many above said choose an "undesirable" one at the lowest starting point if resale is your concern to mitigate it. But then again to be concerned with resale while trying to highly modify a car is a bit redundant in the first place. Why would you go through all the trouble pre planning to sell it? Doesn't make a lot of sense,

I would not be interested in a 458 that is modified in that manner. And I believe a large majority of Ferrari enthusiasts feel the same. Consequently, your pool of potential buyers will definitely be more limited. This will most likely result in either discounting the selling price or incurring the expense of returning the car back to its original condition in order to sell it. Either way its going to cost you money to make this modification. Only you can decide if its worth it.

I think it’s a cool kit and you should feel free to do what you want with your car. But I would scroll right past this particular 458 if I was in the market.

I’d personally only do mods that are 100% reversible when it comes time to sell.

If resale value isn’t a concern, I say go for it. Love to see owners doing different things with their cars.

Go for it. The less pristine stock examples available, the better for the value of mine. :D
