I want to purchase a good quality PTZ security camera for my business. I am going to mount it on a poll for visibility in the yard

I want it to work at night

    Hook to the internet

Power over Ethernet would be good

    Pan Tilt Zoom

    Vandal Proof

    weatherproof

I don't want some little cheap $100 chinese piece of crap.

    Any suggestions? sellers?

I would check out Axis cameras. I've only used their indoor cameras, but am impressed with their quality and software. The power over ethernet works great and it's nice to be able to check the camera from my computer, Ipad, phone, or other internet device.

I've been using Axis: two PTZ and two fixed Axis 221, all outside, for four straight years without any problem.

I am getting ready to upgrade to the PTZ cams to the new AXIS Q6035-E because of its 1920 x 1080 HDTV resolution.

I use IR lights for nighttime.

+1 on Axis, they work... I am not a fan of PTZ and IP, just a several regular cameras with great optics and Axis server (small unit with size of iPad) - $250 or so from ebay

First I use the wireless from X10 that I trash after one year... Later I purchase from Costco the iQue that I paid over $2k and that system was junk.
Last... I order from ebay from a guy in Taiwan... and you know what... it is amazing. Great picture, even in no light. I can use my phone or any computer to connect, have zoom and tilt. and I paid $1k for 18 cameras. I compare the picture quality to top shelf systems.

I wouldn't use Ethernet for power outside. If it gets hit by lightning there is no telling what it will fry. Whenever network professionals run line outside, it's always fiber optic for this reason (and some others).
